"Ok experience. Nothing more and nothing less. Two Norwegians pretty used to comfort and good accommodations, and this wasn’t all the way as expected at this price level, even though it’s Serengeti. The staff were very bad in English, so we found ourselves lost in translation very often. Which made planning a safari a bit of a challenge. However, our safari guide was fantastic. The food was ok, but variety was not good at all. The worst: This hotel is MUCH more expensive than they disclose...

"1. The local Africans that work here are great - they were amazing guys that made my brief stay here tolerable. Thank you guys - you know I appreciated all you did. 2. Location - You're literally in the middle of the wild plains of the Serengeti - One night, several hyenas slept just outside my tent - little nerve racking, but that's the wild for you. 3. "We booked this lodge almost a year ago. It is a new and there were no reviews at the time of booking. We arrived at 1330 and we were not able to access our room until 1400. Once we entered the room the temperature was well over 90F/32C. There is no fan in the room. There are two small windows in the rear, however there is no screen to keep the bugs out. When we went to the front desk to request a portable fan were we told none were available. We ended up sitting outside the room until 1800. We...

Learn more about Serengeti

Witness the Great Migration as millions of wildebeest thunder across the plains with safari guides tracking the action. Book early for balloon safaris over the acacia-dotted savanna where lions, elephants, and leopards roam in their natural habitat.

Out of all of the pictures I took on safari, this one probably sums up the Serengeti more than any other. The vastness of the land is evident by this solitary lion taking shelter from the midday sun under the shade of an acacia tree. The Serengeti will always hold a special place in my heart.
