The Inn at East Beach

The Inn at East Beach

8/10 Good
"For the location, price, and overall vibe of the motel, I thought it was a great value. We were able to walk to breakfast and the beach, which was a huge plus. As someone visiting from out of town, I didn’t realize the units did not have AC. I’m sure that on a typical day, the ocean breeze would be enough to keep the room comfortable at night. Unfortunately, we happened to stay during a particularly hot weekend with very little breeze, and because our room faced inward, it didn’t cool down much. Thankfully, there were fans in the closet that we were able to use, but I hadn’t thought to specifically look for AC under the amenities. During the day, especially while getting ready, the room became quite warm. The staff was lovely and the location was great. My main other concern was the cleanliness. The room appeared to have received more of a surface-level cleaning, as there were a few items left under the bed from previous guests, and the sheets had some small stains. Overall, I would recommend this place to someone looking for a budget-friendly stay, especially if you plan to spend most of your time exploring the area rather than in the room. The location and value were definitely the highlights for us."

"Everything was good but the dirty floor. Smell like someone threw up and like someone peeed on the floor and was sticky. Had to give the dogs a bath when we got home"

"The rooms are always clean and have everything we need. For the first time I noticed the rugs are quite stained and could use some updating. Otherwise, everything was great."

"The cost of parking was high for the two hours a relative wanted to have brunch with my wife and I (we chose to not do it). Also, for older women (my wife is 88) the toilet was too low, or bars would have helped. Otherwise, fine, nice room, pleasant staff."

Riviera Beach House

Riviera Beach House

8/10 Good
"It's cute, clean and the staff is very friendly. It has lots of cute nooks to hang in and games to play. However, do not expect any type of space in your room. It's tiny. Well designed, but teeny tiny. The bathroom is even tinier. Feels as though the entire bathroom is inside the shower. Interesting concept, but not very comfortable. Location is excellent."

"What a fantastic hotel, we will be back! Beautiful well kept room. You don't need to get a large room to experience this property as the entry-level rooms are sufficient. Quiet, clean and a responsive staff. Valet parking and luggage service. Even though they charge for parking, but having this location on closed off State Street is worth it. Spend a little more than a chain hotel, and enjoy the historic experience!"

"Nicest Motel 6 I've stayed in. Great location, well maintained, appeared recently remodeled. Small room, typical for a Motel 6."

"Access to EV charging was great, with reasonable charging costs. Neighborhood was a bit noisy due to construction across the street. Room was very clean and well stocked with useful items. Very friendly and helpful staff quick to respond."
