"We checked in about 7:00pm ( LA traffic added about 1 1/2 hours extra to our trip) Check in staff was very competent, not at all friendly. Pool was nice with fire pits. Our room faced them so lights were on till after we went to bed & light bled thru crack between drapes( a.m. also). Husband liked bed. Room was nice sized, but kind of lacked good light 1st floor room was nice. Front door was weird with glass & shade on door instead of solid door & glass sliding door on back. Went for coffee & donuts in the a.m. & staff was super nice. Maybe evening shift had a hard day. Buelton was a nice town. 7 mins. from Solvang."

"Good mid-Priced stay; the two-room suite is excellent, with a small refrigerator and microwave. Perfect for families. Very nice staff. Location is doable, not super close to the action on State Street and Pier, but only a 9-12 minute drive. Parking was easy to find 10 garages or lots off of State. Breakfast is ok- continental- coffee is good and strong. Basics: cereal, oatmeal, store-bought bagels, croissants (must toast both), fruit; they need to upgrade or carry a better variety of both Regular (Dannon) and Greek yogurt (Chobani). Overall fine, but it would be ideal if they had more variety, i.e., peanut butter for toast. Pool is fine but just off parking lot. This is a lodge, not a hotel, but it worked perfectly for our family as we just wanted beds to crash in at night. And it was clean, quiet, and a good place to rest between our beach, resort pass, bicycle, Mission Visits, and Solvang/Channel Islands day-trip excursions."

"Very clean and modern room. Luved the lemon scented body wash and lotion. Towels and bed linen very clean and soft. Appreciated the free bottled water and cookies. My only issue was the AC unit was noidy"

"This is such a cute and peaceful retreat for us city dwellers. The property was well maintained inside and out, all the concierge touches that the staff does really goes a long way. We felt very cared for from the time of check-in, through the night when we had questions, and in the morning at breakfast. We stayed in the bungalows, they sit adjacent to the main property. They feel like your own space away from everything, super quiet and relaxing. I especially enjoyed reading my book in the covered patio in the rocking chair enjoying the summer night air. Don’t skip the included breakfast, it’s not your normal hotel microwave eggs and cereal bar. We had a delicious quiche that came with rosemary popovers, and a delicious fruit and yogurt parfait. Bonus tip: get the espresso, latte, or cappuccino, they have an amazing espresso machine."
