Stayed here for an event happening near by and overall nice place to stay, if you're into walking it was kinda close to downtown but with an Uber it was 5 min away, the tub could of been cleaned better. Stayed there by myself and I felt safe, there is a whole foods right around the corner so that was nice. I would definitely stay there again.
This hotel was dirty, run down, was not a 3 star hotel as listed on Expedia. Stains on the floor, light in the bathroom had been tagged, phones were broken, lights flickered, elevator was broken, the list could go on and on.
Property was close to the SAP Center/Sharks Arena. Elevator was broken, dirty interior. no lampshade on lamps in room. no cable. dirty shower. stiff bed.

A decent spot if you’re planning to be out and about.
When I arrived, they did not have my reservation. Apparently somebody with a similar name had checked in prior to me and they had given them my room. They gave me a room. There were no screens on the windows. It was dirty. There’s a very rundown building and room. I was put on the third floor, and the elevator was broken. Inside the building people had tagged some of the features on the walls. It was scary to be there. And not well-maintained.
Booked this property because it was close to SAP center, pictures online looked much better than reality, this place has seen better days but you get what you pay for I guess...

Excellent location for the Sharks game we attended!
Check-in was easy.
Staff friendly and helpful when we asked to have more pillows and blankets dropped off at our room.
Property is in need of some updating. The elevator was out of service during our visit, the hallway carpets could use a deep clean (or a complete replacement,) and our room could use at least a coat of fresh paint.
Despite the need for a revamp, The Arena Hotel is the perfect place to spend a night when planning a quick trip to SJ for a Sharks game or other event at SAP.

I've stayed here several times and every time it seems more rundown than before. When I checked in the stairs were filthy. Housekeeping was still cleaning rooms. People in rooms were noisy for most of the night. The drug deals going down in the parking lot were sad. I saw 3 in one night. The smell of pot is inside and outside. I love that it's close to food, light rail, SAP, bus route. I would stay here every time IF they cleaned it up. Probably not again.

The elevator was not in service, the 3rd floor has a very "the Shining" ambiance, the lighting is very dim. All the doors have knick and dings where they have been kicked in. Lightbulbs were missing in my room, and the light switch when you first enter the room didnt work, because the light bulbs were missing. The over all cleanliness was amazing.
