This B&B/restaurant is fantastic and I can not fault it at all! The rooms are spacious, clean,warm and comfortable with plenty of free tea/coffee. Andy who initially greeted me was pleasant and helpful, as I left before breakfast was served the following day he arranged for a packed breakfast to be made for me! this has not happened for me before at other hotels. Stopped here for one night to see family in the local area and watch rugby match. Rooms nice, comfortable, various sizes and all double rooms. All en-suite bathrooms with baths in some with shower over and the smaller rooms with wall in shower only. Great variety of tea types in each room and fresh milk in flask provided. Hotel was clean and welcoming. First impression in foyer is bright and modern. Room a little dated but personally I don’t care about that at all so long as it’s clean, which it was. I appreciated being able to open the window, a good shower with towels that actually fit around an adult, plenty tv channels and good supply of tea/coffee and biscuits. Sometimes thats just what you want when in a hotel for an evening! Staff were helpful and friendly. I wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend.

A great place to stay in the heart of Cardiff. This is top notch luxury and what great beds and a fantastic sleep, I didn't want to leave. The food is good, but as with all buffet breakfasts don't go at the end as the food will be mostly cold. Bain maries do a fair job but it's not like getting the meal cooked to order. The facilities are great, but beaware that the Spa is NOT included in the room rate and this is an extra £32pp Mon-Thurs and £42pp Fri-Sun. Like good coffee? Go outside...

Great staff, fab location

We stayed two nights at the Bear in September and enjoyed it immensely. This is a ancient Coaching Inn and so layout is a little quirky. But the room was a good size and extremely comfortable. Large four poster bed, comfortable armchair, sufficient hanging space, a well appointed en suite and tea making facilities, made for a great stay. Breakfast was individually made and well cooked. We also are in the bar late on Sunday and the roast (topside of beef and all trimmings) was outstanding....

Great staff, facilities where good, breakfast was nice, room was tidy, what else could you ask for.

Modern hotel on the outskirts of Cardiff next to a lake and a retail park. Rooms were basic but clean and the staff were polite and helpful. Good pub quality food and fair selection of drinks. Free parking for guests. Very good value for money and for what we required, a cheap overnight stopover, it was ideal.

Short comfortable stay didn’t use the facilities

A little off the beaten track but accommodation was excellent. All staff were friendly and courteous. Room was spacious with a great shower. Pub below/next door had a good selection of real ales.

Excellent breakfast clean rooms friendly staff

Arrived early as we were going to a matinee show in the Millennium centre. Although our room wasn't ready there was a place to store our belongings safely. Staff were very helpful and the breakfast is amazing.

My first time staying here and I was very impressed, the venue itself is beautiful, the whole place including the grounds were very clean and tidy, the decor of the place was lovely and very imaginative. My room was fantastic, very large, clean and had all the facilities. Dinner and breakfast were just perfect. I cant fault the place in any way, the staff were all very polite, perfect.

Always a wonderful place to stay in South Wales.
