Everything about the hotel stay was excellent. However, the highly-touted "Tea at the Empress" was disappointing. Our reservations were for 4pm and we were seated shortly after that. The dining room is lovely but very noisy when it is full. Our waiter, Lorne, was quite the chatterbox. He told us about every celebrity he has served (including the queen), about his daughter who lives in Vancouver, what he did for his last birthday celebration, and everything else about his life. We hadn't asked, so I don't know what prompted this storytelling. Also, the top pieces of bread on the sandwiches were stale. We visited Victoria five years ago and had tea at Butchart Gardens. It was half the price and MUCH more enjoyable!

My stay at the Fairmont Empress was nothing short of amazing! The hotel is absolutely beautiful, with stunning grounds covered in vibrant flowers that made every walk outside feel magical. Our room was incredibly well-appointed, and the bed was so comfortable, making it easy to relax after a long day of exploring. The spa was a real highlight—such a rejuvenating experience, and I highly recommend it for anyone visiting. And to top it all off, the bar was iconic. On our last night, we stopped in for dessert and port, which was the perfect way to end our stay. I can’t recommend the Fairmont Empress enough. It’s an unforgettable experience from start to finish!

The staff & service were great, but the room on the 'Gold' level was somewhat underwhelming for the price. We had a few issues which were addressed by the staff in a timely manner; which was appreciated. Food was 7/10. (we had breakfast daily, and dinner at the Q Restaurant). Overall, the product is decent, but at this price point, some might expect a little more.

Loved the proximity to shopping and restaurants. Loves that we could walk along the waterfront in both directions. We were offered the Gold option and it was a wonderful experience! I highly recommend it.
