Disappointed that I thought I had booked B&B so didn't welcome the £40 breakfast charge.

"Modern comfort in antique splendor"
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful - making sure we had a room upon arrival before check-in time. Excellent accommodations! Great bed and shower. Wonderful restaurant adjoining the hotel. Great food and service. Charming library for hotel guests. Perfect for reading on rainy afternoon. Convenient to all of Oxford's noted places. Complimentary guided walking tour daily.

"Lovely hotel, shame about the renovation work "
We stayed at the hotel for a relaxed city break. Great location. It was a pity though that we were not informed of the renovation work still being carried out after a fire in early 2015. Also, we were unaware of the evening dress code for the dining room. This was not the fault of the hotel, but the booking agent (Expidia). Therefore we didn't have access, (due to lack of appropriate clothing) to sample the food on offer. Overall it was a good trip.

"Small homey hotel could do with fire alarm repair"
Arrived 11 am very sleep deprived from prior activities. Was able to leave my bags, then check in promptly at 2 pm and nap easily. Owner Pete was very nice. Room was adequate. Floor had irregular surface occasional depressions under the carpet. No light at desk. Seemed clean. I would stay here again if they improved/replaced the fire alarm system. Awakened at 12:15 AM by fire alarm, had to evacuate building for 20 min. Seemed as if no hotel staff actually slept on premises-had to wait for someone to drive from another part of town to shut off the false alarm. I was told the alarm had gone off once or twice earlier in day. About 1 am, at a time when I was deeply asleep again, alarm went off briefly 2 more times.

"Cheap looking hotel, good location, okay price"
My room was at the top of the stairs and I had a LOT of luggage which was a real pain to get up and down. The TV and light in the bathroom didn't work. It was a little bit noisy because of the bar downstairs and being on the main clubbing street.

"Pleasant hotel with quirky touches"
Beds were comfortable if a little firm. The prison environment mafe for a quiet ( slightly gloomy) stay. All round it was a good hotel with pleasant staff.

"Nice hotel, extremely clean."
Found that the cost of a Coke and coffee (latte) extremely expensive. Each worked out to $8 (Canadian). You can start a tab for room service, upon checkout the front desk clerk explained it incorrectly. All worked out - I was just wanting to ensure I didn't get double billed, which did not happen.

"Nice Guest House"
I had a very pleasant stay. The house us nice, the bed was very comfortable. Be advised that the WiFi is not very fast, but it did work. The proprietor did call my mobile and asked if I could be there before 7pm to check in, which I had no issue with.
