"Great staff! They helped to facilitate a lost item at our precious hotel and they arranged for it to be delivered. The staff were always friendly and had answers to our questions. The hotel is situated one stop away from the Kyoto station. Very convenient. The rooms were large, beds and pillows comfortable. Best of all for me, was that they had comforters as I like to sleep with something weighted on me. Across the street there is a very good and small ramen place, highly recommended. We did have breakfast at this hotel and it was OK since it was more Japanese than western. Am used to a traditional western breakfast but other might enjoy a more Japanese one. "

"Western breakfast was more to my liking, but the traditional Japanese breakfast was interesting to try. If you enjoy seafood, the traditional Japanese dinner may be something for you. "

"Simply the hotel was superb - the rooms are larger than you would generally get in Japan and the quality of the fittings and cleanliness was top rate. We enjoyed the 'rain' shower - probably the best that we experienced in any hotel. The rooms were cleaned and tidied everyday - if I had a small complaint, there wasnt any closet space only a rail with a few coat hangers. The bed was very comfortable and the room had blackout curtains - and well the toilet is to die for - I need one of these at home The hotel in an excellent position, just opposite from NIJO station which has both underground and overground connections, so it was easy getting anywhere in Kyoto - we were only 2 stops from Kyoto station (where you can get the bullet train and the direct train to Osaka Kansai Airport). Around the station there are convenience stores, supermarkets and many places to eat. We didn't eat breakfast in the hotel as it was too expensive Y2,000 each, so tried a number of different coffee shops where breakfast for four was around Y2,500. I would certainly recommend the hotel - we used it as our base to visit Osaka, Hiroshima, Nara and Tokyo (although for here we stayed at another hotel in Tokyo for 3 nights) but retained our room at the Royal Park."

"The staff here are the absolute best. Through a mistake all of my cash, in an envelope, was thrown away. I approached the staff asking if they had seen it, clearly I was panicking. They helped tear our room apart to look for it. When that resulted in nothing, they waited with us for the cleaning crew, who then dug through the trash to find the bag from our specific room. Inside was all my money still in a sealed envelope. I will be forever grateful for all the effort they went through to help me."
