Convenient to Nijo station which had a taxi rank but not the best location for shopping or attractions. No wine at all, ever, at this hotel. We went next door to the Moxy Hotel each night for the cool bar and food.
Conveniet location, breakfast was fresh with a great variety staff was helpful, the bed was comfortable, the shower was amazing, the property was so clean and well maintained. Fantastic place for a good price!

Great hotel! Very clean and spacious rooms - with great amenities (gym etc) and lovely staff
My stay at the hotel was great.
The room was nice and clean.
It does show its age with a few scuff marks on the wall and furniture but nothing major.
The location is right next to the train station which is incredibly convenient.
There is unlimited matcha latte, sparkling water, espresso and coffee from the machines at the reception.
The gym had a treadmill, indoor bikes, a bench, dumbbells and a foam roller.
super happy with our stay here, the rooms and facilities were clean and staff were friendly and accomodating. everything was within walking distance and the rooms were just the perfect size for two. if you are wanting to be near a train station this accomodation is perfect as it is directly across the road which made it stress free when leaving to sightsee.
Had a good stay here. Staff was super friendly. Had one of the staff there recommend me a shop where i could buy some whiskey to take as a gift. When i come back to Kyoto, I'll try my best to book here again!
The location is great — not right in the city centre, which made the area quiet, yet still very convenient to get anywhere.
The amenities were wonderful, and the staff accommodated every request with great care.
The room was spacious compared to similarly priced hotels.
Very nice hotel but breakfast was cold and very boring. nit enough choices for Westerners and ask fir awake call and the refused. king of strange fur a hotel. The evening staff was rude in my opinion. Hotel was clean and on the cusp on weather or not i would stay there again
For our two weeks in Japan, this was probably our most favorite stay. The hotel was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. There's a public bath and gym for those interested. Kyoto was our favorite city to walk and site see, and Nijo Station being across the street you can get around Kyoto in no time. There's some restaurant chains across the street, and a Life grocery store about 5 minutes down the street. Nijo Castle is also a short walk. My only knock against our stay was the self check-in/out. Would rather be interacting with the staff, which was friendly and helpful, than a machine.
Right across the street from the Nijo station... so it was perfect to catch the train wherever you wanted to go. Loved the shower.
My room was on the smaller side but that was fine with us. We were out and about most of the days anyway. I enjoyed the public bath facilities ( separate one for men and women). The water had to be 105 degrees Fahrenheit, it was great. It was relaxing after a day full of walking. My bed was a little hard but I'm very spoiled in my Purple bed at home. Plenty of items for breakfast.
Anyway, great location, location, location.
