"Coming from out of town to arrive up to what looked and felt like a college dorm was terrible! The bedding and pillows were awful, the floors were filthy, and the light switch by the front door controls the lamps by the bed!!! Price should’ve been way cheaper "

"Our stay at Stoney Creek Hotel Kansas City - Independence was unfortunately the worst hotel experience we’ve had. There were extremely large groups of unattended children throughout the property. I’m not referring to a handful, there were easily two dozen pre-teen children running up and down the hallways late at night and occupying the pool area with little to no supervision. After 10 PM, the hallway running and yelling continued. When we politely asked them to stop, they became even louder. The suite above our room had children running, jumping, and moving furniture until nearly 2 AM, making it nearly impossible to sleep. We reported this to the front desk around midnight. The staff member who helped us was very polite and professional, and he did go upstairs to speak with them, but unfortunately the situation was never resolved and the noise continued. I understand hotels can’t make children behave, but there should be enforceable policies for the adults responsible for them. It isn’t fair for other guests — who paid the same rate, to dodge unsupervised children in hallways or feel like they need to watch children in the pool who clearly cannot swim. This is especially disappointing because my family has stayed here several times a year, but after this experience that will likely have to change."

"Pool was so dirty - hair and bugs everywhere! The entire hallway smelled like smoke too. Plus our room had stains everywhere - so gross! Owner made us wait 2 HOURS because he said he could only do the refund that we asked for and then he ended up not showing up and told his employee they could’ve done the refund the whole time! Horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE!!!!"

"Room was clean and comfortable. We stayed three nights and was a little surprised that our room wasn't cleaned. But, we didn't really need maid service. Just surprised. Breakfast was very good each morning. "

"The room was good. My disappointment was this… I prepaid for my rooms for my trip. Upon arrival, Check in was smooth. We stayed one night. The following morning upon checkout, we find that they billed us another 18.95 “resort fee”due at checkout. Why? There is no resort! Why wasn’t this fee included in my original purchase price??? This is shady and rediculous. I believe that the leave the 19.00 off to make their rates look better to get more rooms rented and then charge the extra 19.00 afterward because your stuck paying it at this point and they make another 19.00 off of the room. I will not be back. "
