Theresa our host was so helpful. She stayed late for our late arrival. Her cooking is lovely if you want a meal in. Beautiful views of the sea from balcony. A much quieter but more beautiful part of the island than Funchal.

Great spot for visiting Madeira, lovely and tucked away in the mountains with local shops and restaurants near by. Funchal only 28 mins car journey away. Room was super clean, air conditioned, great bathroom, fridge, owner was always on hand to help if any issues.

A tasteful blend of contemporary and traditional buildings, with our superior block room worth the extra money - larger and with a much better quality lounging area outside the patio doors. A nice, personal sized hotel as a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World group. Breakfast was intimate, uncrowded and orders of hot food came in seconds. The gardens are immaculate and there were ample staff everywhere throughout our stay attending both to maintaining the internal and external ambiance....

Its difficult to find superlatives that match the enjoyment we had at the Albatroz. Its a stunning location and everything was right from the check-in to the check-out. The staff at the Hotel have a value set and desire to provide service that is matched only by 5 star establishments, and in my estimation this certainly is a 5 star Hotel. We plan to return, and frankly cant wait to do so. Go and enjoy!!

This place was incredible! Room was amazing - so spacious and comfy. Loved the bath robes! We used all 3 of the hotel’s spas with roof top hot tubs, swimming pool and sauna. Breakfast was amazing. Couldn’t recommend this place more!

Me and my husband have stayed there for 4 nights and I can't say a single bad word about the hotel. The room was amazing, stuff very nice (we even got a packed breakfast to take away because we had to leave early!) and the view from the room's balcony is priceless. Highly recommended.

Nice resort hotel in the North West of Madeira, perfectly located for the natural pools. As an added bonus you get access to unlimited free day passes into the pools that require a paid ticket. The staff were so lovely, friendly and helpful. We had a friend call ahead (unknown to us) to tell them it was our honeymoon and they gave us a free bottle of wine which was a lovely gesture. Lovely quiet hotel

We were welcomed with something of a tea ceremony and this elegance extended to tbe simple but nicely-served breakfast, which was in the dining room filled with antiques and interesting prints. The bedroom furniture was grand too, carved wood, though beware if you are used to a big bed as they didn't make them like that then! There was a nice if oblique view towards the sea.The price for the night was very good value in my opinion.

This small hotel is on the North of the Madeira which is much quieter and unspoiled than the Funchal side. It is in a wonderful location with stunning views of the mountains and sea and as it is a bit cooler after dark the staff light a real fire which was very romantic. One downside is its a bit out of the way so you do need to hire a car if you want to stay here.

Rustic cabin in beautiful gardens.

We loved the location and rooftop pool of this stay, in Madeira. The room was simple, but clean and we enjoyed the amenities. Staff weren’t too friendly and the breakfast was quite limited, but we enjoyed the room and found a great local restaurant to eat at that evening (Restaurant a Chave).

Wonderful. Great sauna and pool. Beautiful location. Clean walk-in shower. Thoughtful coffee, oil, vinegar, fruit etc on arrival. Well equipped.

The staff are courteous and friendly and helpful. If they were unable to help directly they could always advise where you might get the help you needed. We enjoyed our stay but did find a big disadvantage that as it was 3-4 miles inland from the express way on very difficult roads you didn't want to go into the town after dark. This meant that you ate in the hotel every night. The restaurant menu was very good although it was the same every night so you eventually ran out of choice. After...
