I recently stayed at the Hyatt Centric in New York City and had a somewhat mixed experience. The hotel itself boasts a prime location, perfect for exploring the city. However, several issues during my stay marred the overall experience somewhat.
Upon checking in, I was taken aback by additional charges that had not been mentioned during the booking process. This lack of transparency in pricing was disappointing, and I think all potential guests should be aware of this before booking.
Noise was another significant concern. The bustling sounds of the city are to be expected in NYC, but the noise within the hotel was surprising. The walls seemed thin, and I could hear noises from the hallways and adjacent rooms quite clearly. For those sensitive to noise, this might be a considerable drawback.
Additionally, while the central location is great for daytime exploration, venturing out in the evening proved to be uncomfortable at times. I encountered several aggressive individuals right outside the hotel, which made returning there at night a bit daunting.
On the positive side, the hotel staff was courteous and helpful, doing their best to address any concerns. The rooms, although impacted by noise, were clean and well-maintained.
