My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
The room was very spacious. The staff sets up traditional futon mattresses while you're at dinner, and these are very comfortable. The en-suite onsen is truly luxurious as promised, although be sure to look up steps for how to shower/prepare if you have not done one before!
They also open up the main onsens for private use between 10pm and 6am (during the day they're gender-restricted).

We were made to feel so welcome here and would love to stay again. The hosts were wonderful, so friendly and made this an unforgettable stay in an incredibly beautiful location. Would highly recommend!

It was a beautiful place to stay with a lovely room and a modern bathroom attached. The old style was really beautiful with the dark wood.
The staff were so friendly and helpful.
We stayed 4 nights and used it as a base for Kamikochi and the wasabi farm and cycle in Azumino as well as the Castle in Matsumoto itself.

The hotel is amazingly good. Near the Matsumoto train station and the Matsumoto bus terminus. Hot spring bath and late night snack are very good.
Also I am writing to thank a particular young front desk male staff.(Forgive me for forgetting his Japanese name) I left my passport in the last hotel. He contacted my previous hotel and helped to arrange the delivery of my passport from the last hotel to this hotel. He was caring, professional and helpful. This attribute was also shared by...

Wonderful little privately run bed and breakfast in lovely natural surroundings. The bed and breakfast is run with style, quality and homeliness in mind. The interior is decorated to be at one with nature and the local environment. Both the massage chair and the private bath for 2 (which needs to be booked in advance) were a pleasant surprise. It is a lovely hotel in a beautiful setting and is very homely and down to earth. I will definitely stay here again when next in Japan.

Absolutely amazing experience. The room had a Onsen bath on the balcony overlooking the lake. The service included dinner and breakfast in a private room with amazing local food and a lovely waitress who spoke decent English and explained every dish to us. There is also a lovely open rooftop Onsen. The room is large and very comfortable like an apartment. All of the staff were amazing. Fantastic

The photos on the site suggest that this is a budget hotel, similar to the Premiere Inn chain in the UK. It's actually a lot nice than that. The rooms are very nicely laid out and extremely comfortable. There are pay-per-view channels on the TV (movies and Japanese pixelated adult content) that you pay for using an access card sold from a vending machine in the hall (1000 yen). The dining room is very luxurious and looks like a banqueting hall. The breakfast is very high quality with a good mix...
