"Basic three star hotel (advertised as four/ five). Stayed for major work conference so was incredibly convenient for the second visit to the hotel. Found hair (not mine!) each day from what I assume was the cleaners in the bathroom, left over rubbish from prior guests (glasses case, scrunchies, eye drop solutions) in nooks/ crevices that weren’t even hard to reach. Seems as if they think their location is the only thing they need to keep guests satisfied."

"This is a wonderful, quaint, little hotel. The hallways and stair cases are tiny, but the rooms are plenty spacious. I don't think there's a lift so be mindful if you have large luggage. The food in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner was amazing. I would definitely stay again. "

"The property offers good value. It’s a reasonable price and a 12 minute walk to the City center. The in room amenities were okay. The staff were helpful. We had an issue with hot water which was promptly. The Ethos cafe is handy but the food options including breakfast is only average What I didn’t like: the property should disclose prominently that accessibility may be an issue as there were many steps both to check in and to our room."

"Location! This was an excellent choice to walk all over Oxford, the breakfast (for a fee) was superb & met dietary restrictions. The staff and Lobby area are wonderful. My only small complaint is the general WiFi is not great, but by joining their corporate membership program, you can access a better network AND get a complimentary beverage."

"We were so happy with our hotel room at the Bocardo which is on George Street so nice and central to everything in Oxford. We did a lot of sight seeing and tourist activities and everything was only a few minutes walk away. The reception staff also gave us a map and marked out our locations for us on it which was really helpful. Our room was nice and spacious with big windows that opened and also had effective curtains that blocked out the light. As an added bonus the room also had air conditioning which can be rare in the UK. We were so comfortable there and the staff were lovely and so kind. We would highly recommend the Bocardo to anyone staying in Oxford."

"Pretty old and small room, no fridge, beautiful neighborhood though"

"The room was well equiped with everything we needed as well as being spotlessly clean. It was especially nice to have a big screen tv, a fridge and ironing equipment as well as a digital bedside clock. The air con worked really well. The breakfast was really nice with a good selection of items for full english as well as contental. The only thing we were disappointed with was the bacon which looked very tasty but didnt taste very nice at all. The sausages however, were excellent. The hotel is only a short walk from the station and is very close to many shops, pubs and other attractions."
