"the hotel itself is great, rooms are spacious and clean we stayed in a superior family room which was great and had a complementary minibar that was re-stocked. the hotels halls however could do with some TLC , a bit of paint would make this a better review. it just looks a little tired in some places. I was disappointed by the breakfast. the Hot buffet was good but the cold buffet was a bit lacking. You can order some extra bits such as a ham and cheese platter separately but that literally consisted of 2 slices of ham and 2 sad looking pieces of cheese. no selection there, no vegetables. Anything over and above and a bit more fancy you had to pay extra for. So if you are a hot ,fried breakfast type you would love it but if you prefer a cold buffet choice you might be disappointed. The fruit and pastries were ok and so were the cereal but I would only rate this 3 out of 5 stars overall."

"The room was very clean, the toiletries nice, the bedding and towels good quality and clean. The bar staff were very friendly and polite. However, I was not given the room I had booked. I was told it had been booked, but don't think there was anyone else staying there that night. The TV is on a low bench, so you can't really see it from the bed, the fridge is on the floor (fine if you're ok on your hands and knees) and the plug in the shower was partially blocked (so you got a foot bath). The room I was given also had the kitchen extractor right outside the window. It quietened down after about 10pm... (but was still sufficiently noisy for me to need the window closed). For information, breakfast is included and very nice, but.... only served from 9am onwards, so not ideal if you are working locally and need to crack on...."

"No complaints. Situated in a quiet location, this good sized room with a comfortable bed can almost guarantee a good nights sleep. The hosts were very friendly and cooked a great breakfast. Would happily stay again."

"Great little, old quirky cottage in a pleasant village! Nice and warm, cosy cottage and a well stocked kitchen with tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc to hand. All facilities including dish washer and washing machine if you need it. Host was responsive and helpful too. On the whole it was very clean, a few things need fixing like tiles outside the back door but it didn’t take away the charm of the place. We visited the pub and the locals were so friendly! Pity they don’t do food but good for a drink. Also visited the shop (amazingly well stocked) and the fish and chips which were lovely! Pet friendly and a real little find, our dogs were very at home! Lovely stay thank you! "

"Arrived early evening looking forward to having a meal after a long drive to find out that there is no food service for the length of my stay. I feel this should have been made clear at the time of booking. Although not the Half Moons fault, there was no WiFi available due to a damaged phone line caused by road works. As I was on a business trip this was compulsory as the phone signal in the area is next to null. The room was comfortable and clean, only complaint with the room is the boiler that is situated in the bathroom continuously switching on and off which was noisy. "
