"We had a lovely one night stay at Ferncliff, it was just lovely and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend as a very well run ‘b&b’ type hotel but much more luxurious. Bernard in particular was fantastic, especially his cooking — we had both dinner and breakfast there. Very glad we chose this over the ‘grand hotel’ in the end. "

"A very nice property although a bit run down, need of update including furnitures, we arrived late in the evening and found it very cold room we had to turn electric fire on and left it on right through the night, the food is average, no local shops near by, so you will need tuk tuk, staff are great, friendly and very helpful. "I booked this cottage due to its high rating in Expedia.
However, my experience was not as good as other same price range hotels I stayed in Sri Lanka.
There was about 20 flies welcoming us that took hours to get rid of them.
The facility it self is not bad but needs more effort in maintaining the facility and welcoming the guest.
The breakfast was the same for two days and there was no excitement. Taste was not good as well.
Since the cottage is maintaining the high rate, management might...

The meals we had in the evening and for breakfast were simple but delicious.
