We booked a premier 2-bedroom apartment. The main room was lovely, bright and great view of the river and the surrounding. The 2nd room and the common seating area had much improvements needed. The areas smell from a lack of sunlight and ventilation. While it is not possible to reconfigure the rooms, the 2nd bedroom and common seating area could benefit from brighter condition and air purifier.

This is an old hotel. But it’s very charming. Not 5* but still good. Staff were all lovely. Breakfast buffet is amazing. The gym is good. The pool Is a nice environment but the water was cold. We enjoyed the pool bar a lot with a great view over the river. It’s a well located hotel and the trips all pick up here. Room was large and comfortable. Shower was excellent. We’d definitely stay again.

We loved this hotel! We stayed on the club floor - exquisite service. The breakfast was vast and delicious, the location was as central as you can get, and being attached to the mall was really cool!! I would definitely recommend this hotel !!!

Love this hotel - friendly staff reflect Kuching itself. Amazing room service, access to shopping mall in hotel, great views, amazing breakfast buffet, I want to go back ! Only small complaint might be that the elevators are slow and get busy with shopping mall users, wedding and conference guests, etc - but don't let this small matter deter you from staying here !

Good hotel

We first stayd 5 nights in pullmann hotel, and then 4 nights in waterfront. Waterfront had a much nicer feeling, the breakfast was much better, the pool 100% better with a nicer feeling, and rooms was nicer. You get alot more for your money other places in Malaysia, but we had i nice stay.

Very close to Carpenter Street and the Riverside. Convenient location. Provide lemon water and coffee/tea plus cookies at lobby whole day is a plus.

Overall pleasant stay with friendly staff. Large room but a bit tired, hotel in need of refurb, certainly redecoration. Breakfast good selection. Good location. Swimming pool in shaded area, open but recessed under a roof so no sun and cool water. No outside space any where to enjoy the sun, except a small space for the smokers! From previous reviews was expecting top notch! It wasn’t!

Dream stay at the Waterfront Hotel

My stay at the Waterfront Hotel was the best hotel experience I have ever had. The length the staff will go to in order to meet your requests is simply amazing. The hotel has it's own app with which you can chat with the staff at all times - yes, even in the middle of the night. They are extremely helpful and courteous. The true stand out of this whole experience. If nothing else you should visit just for this. Luckily, there are also other things to thoroughly enjoy at the Waterfront. There's the big and varied breakfast buffet where cooks will prepare custom omelets and Sarawak laksa for you, every day has a new flavor of freshly made fruit smoothies and a barista carefully prepares your coffee. Then there's the pool area which has it's own bar. And let me tell you: the bartenders know what they're doing. Carefully crafted cocktails made to your exact specifications. You don't even have to ask for customization - they will make sure to ask you for it. If shopping is your thing the hotel has a direct access to the Merdeka shopping center which has lots of stores. I just used it for the ATM though. Rooms are kept very clean and you can pick when you want the room cleaned through a smart, little system located on the wall in the room. There's an option for privacy and one for cleaning. Cleaning was perfect. Also, I had a King River View room and the king size bed was amazing. If you are going to Borneo make sure to stay at the Waterfront Hotel!

In the vibrant heart of Kuching

Located in the historic heart of the city which is great (but does comes with city sounds). The view from the pool deck is perfect for iconic pictures, especially for the bonus night fountain show across the river. The pool itself is a little too cold without any sun on it. The highlight of our stay was the customer service. Frankie was like our personal concierge, he granted us a wonderful room upgrade and arranged a rental car for us in the most seamless car hire experience I’ve ever had. The attached shopping mall is great to have right there for anything you need or just a break in the A/C.

5 star hotel with Bad housekereping

Worst housekeeping for a 5 star hotels. Used cup left unwashed. Smelly bath robe and okd towels. Many items not replinish after making up room. Strategucally located but bad service.

We liked the convenience to the Sarawak Waterfront. Lots of eateries and cafes. We were on the executive floor which includes a light breakfast and High Tea, for us it was more private and quiet with a wonderful view of the Sarawak River. The staff are all very attentive. What didn’t I like! You have a Nespresso coffee machine in the room but you only get four capsules on arrival. If you want some daily you have to pay for them. Never have I been to a hotel that includes a Nespresso machine and you don’t get daily espresso capsules. For me this was disappointing. The gym needs attention as the aircon doesn’t work well and some of the equipment needs updating.

This feedback is for management, Actually my review on staff is solely based on ONE staff member, the lady that looks after the pool and sauna for me every single day, she was so good, attentive and always positive. The rest of the staff needs to have better training. Some staff walk around bare feet, sometimes during quiet times the staff are talking to family loud and friends on their mobile phones disrupting the guests. Really weird, the only noticeable staff member that provided me EXCEPTIONAL service was the lady that looked after the pool and sauna in the mornings. She was fantastic, deserves a payrise

Noisy with a bad pool but great location

The pool is cold and covered, so there is no sundeck, we did not enjoy it. Drinks are not the best. Rooms are fine, but even we stayed on the executive floor with a great view, the aircon was noisy and vibrated the entire room, and it was just on or off, no settings worked. The bed was old and we didn't sleep to well. The breakfast buffet looked good, but the bread was stale and the cakes dry and the service crew looked to care about nothing. We would not recommend to stay here if you like to use the pool and bar and sleep well. Location is great in the middle of the Waterfront area, but can be noisy around weekends.

Club Floor Might Not Get You Entry Into the Club

Not a bad place, relatively clean and comfortable. Location is great as every place in old Kuching is just a short walk away. But as usual, it takes one staff to spoil the stay. We booked 2x family rooms on the Club Floor, so that we could use the Club. We got to check in at the Club, and we were told that we could use it, all 6 of us, as long it was open. However, for breakfast on the 4th floor, it would only be for 4, and we'd have to pay for 2. No issues there. On the 2nd day of the stay, we were told that only up to 4 could use the lounge, and that we would have to pay MYR39 each for the other 2 pax. What?!!! And that is for each entry, i.e., for tea time, and then for "Happy Hour" (inverted commas because there's no alcohol served). We just needed to use the lounge to discuss our activities since we weren't in adjoining rooms. Some times we didn't even take a drink. The charge didn't make sense, and I told the staff that was not what we were told at the start. She later came back to say she spoke to the manager and we'd all get 'complimentary' lounge entry for the rest of the stay. Strange, I thought that's why you pay the extra for the Club Floor to start with.
