"Great place and experience. The food was fresh and good and friendly people both working and living in the temple. Remember that it's cold in the temple during winter. The bedroom is warm."

"The staff were exceptionally polite and welcoming, and the room was very clean. Dinner and breakfast are great and with enough privacy. The onsen facilities were also enjoyable. The only drawback is that there isn’t a convenience store nearby. In general, this is a great hotel but only for road trip travelers."

"Stale old place that doesn’t live up. Breakfast consisted of persimmon-hushing from a store tossed at the table the night before. Cold water and a tiny toilet only. The onsen „experience“ was a 20 min drive away, how relaxing is that. Needless to say, I did not stay at this dump. I booked a hotel close by for the same price, it was excellent and delivered an amazing breakfast too, besides having an in-House onsen"

"Excellent place to stay! Great views and a true traditional Japanese Ryokan. The garden is beautiful and the staff is super friendly. The building is quite old and full of history which adds to the charm. Would stay again. "
