"easy check in despite limited English of staff. we arrived early in the morning and room was not ready. staff was able to lock our luggage and provided us with a map of the local area. there are some trails to the local shrine. room was great! extremely clean and cosy. outdoor bath and shower were great. checked out the public bath as well which was very clean and well maintained. "This traditional Japanese Inn is thoroughly modern with excellent facilities, rooms, Michelin quality food, and helpful staff. We want to call out ‘Mikki’ who was super kind and helped us with any language barriers we had. The entire restaurant staff was amazing and we are grateful to meet the chef. The onsens were also wonderful. A room here with breakfast and dinner included is an excellent value."

"Stale old place that doesn’t live up. Breakfast consisted of persimmon-hushing from a store tossed at the table the night before. Cold water and a tiny toilet only. The onsen „experience“ was a 20 min drive away, how relaxing is that. Needless to say, I did not stay at this dump. I booked a hotel close by for the same price, it was excellent and delivered an amazing breakfast too, besides having an in-House onsen"
