Possibly one of the best locations - the hotel is literally ON Taksim Square. 10 steps from Istiklal Street, a gazillion food & cafe options. 3 mins walk from the Metro and Tram as well. Very convenient location.

Worst Service in Turkey
New hotel in a fantastic location. Ultimately, could have been a really wonderful experience were it not for the PATHETIC service. From the Managers to the breakfast staff, just a really poor experience. Some complaints: 1. Service at Breakfast is the worst I've ever experienced. 3-star quality 2. Managers are rude and unhelpful 3. Porters and Security are rude and unhelpful The location and rooms are very nice. The service makes you want to book elsewhere.

This hotel is in a great location and all of the physical aspects are good -- clean, spacious rooms, great location, etc. Everything you'd expect from a Sofitel. However, the service was among the worst I've experienced in many years at a top hotel. The spa was anything but relaxing, and some of the staff there were exceptionally rude; the massage in particular was just awful. Our room was without toilet paper for 24 hours, and multiple calls to the front desk seemed to make no difference. The bell desk rarely had a person staffing it, so we were often left to deal with our own luggage. There are many other excellent hotels in the Taksim Square area, and I'd recommend going with one of those over Sofitel.
