"Overall lovely stay staff very friendly efficient with prompt service. As a 4 star hotel a few things could be improved like a fridge in the room to keep the bottled water they provided cold, air conditioning but probably would be too expensive to fit due to the age of the building and paintwork here and there needed touching up. There was a problem checking in to the hotel as they asked us to pay again even though we had already paid. They said they would sort it on checkout but this could have worried some guests although we knew we were right so it didn’t bother us. Finally when we went to dinner and wanted to order a glass of wine they did not have any of the first choice of wine or the second choice and they didn’t have that many to choose from if you wanted to buy wine by the glass. After saying that we would definitely visit again and these are just minor pointers as constructive criticism to offer feedback. Thank you for a lovely stay and we will be back on the summer "

"Superb value for money. Our room was spotlessly clean and serviced every day. It was great that our towels weren't replaced when we hung them up. I would highly recommend having an evening meal there as both of our choices were delicious. Great location - we went into Edinburgh three times and used the park and ride at Wallyford which is a 15 minute drive away. Stunning views from the restaurant. We shall definitely recommend The Lodge to anyone who wants to stay in the area."

"We really loved our overnight stay at The Crown and Kitchen in East Linton. Really cute little place with beautiful room. The staff were so friendly and the breakfast was delicious. Would highly recommend this place. There is a train station in East Linton and only takes 20 minutes away so it’s perfect for a wee day or evening out in Edinburgh if you don’t want to stay in the city itself. "
