"The house and facilities are fantastic, in fact it felt so homely and welcoming we did not want to come home. "Super hotel, close to the harbour & beach. Rooms are lovely, spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds. This is our second visit here, would definitely recommend."

"Initially was assigned a very small room in the eaves, not the “classic double” as advertised. Staff were very helpful and allowed me to upgrade for a reasonable price. Breakfast was excellent and the restaurant menu very good, with excellent service throughout. The house itself is impressive but rooms and common areas are frankly knackered. Greasy marks around switches, peeling, chipped wallpaper and broken furniture throughout. I paid to upgrade to the “royal suite”, in order to get a desk and mirror, but it was just a very large room, not a suite, and with none of the expected facilities you would get with a suite (fridge, minibar, writing materials etc). Grounds are brilliant however and the shortcomings of the building were made up by the excellent food and high standard of customer service."
