Hull takes great pride in the city Humber Bridge, a beautiful piece of engineering. The bridge held the record for the world’s longest suspension bridge for 16 years helping connect East Riding of Yorkshire with North Lincolnshire.

If it is a day at the beach you seek there is a selection of beaches in East Riding of Yorkshire to choose from, Fraisthorpe Beach in Bridlington is a real hidden gem. With miles of golden sandy beach for children to enjoy, it’s perfect for spending a sunny afternoon with the family. The coastal town of Bridlington is steeped in history with a 900 year old working harbour and an award winning promenade.

Explore wider Yorkshire. The Yorkshire Wolds is considered one of the UK’s most popular rambling spots, thanks to its gorgeous walking trails that run through beautiful valleys and villages in the Yorkshire countryside.

Many of the walks take you through the bustling market towns that dot the landscape. One of the most popular trails is eighty miles long, the famous Yorkshire Wolds National Trail. You can choose your own starting and end point, where you will be assured of wooded valleys and sunny hilltops.

Alternatively Beverley Minster is one of Britain’s finest examples of medieval gothic architecture, not to be missed if you are visiting or passing through this area of Yorkshire. It is worth spending some time in enjoying its demon carvings and other amazing gargoyles. The staff are passionate about Beverley Minster and are on hand to share stories of the building with visitors.

"Lovely first stay at Holiday Inn Express Hull. Spotlessly clean throughout, super comfy beds and selection of pillows, well appointed room with iron which you would actually dare use and an ironing board. Plentiful breakfast, included in price, with bags and take away cups for those pushed for time. ..."

Great stay - recommend
"Quick check in, warm cookie on arrival. Room clean and specious. Nice and modern. Bathroom clean however shower gel was empty but reception responded to my request to refill. Did not go to gym. Good location although how do Hull not have Uber?! Overall, would stay again."

"We didn’t even get to stay in the hotel waited 30minutes outside for them to tell us the people before damaged the property so we could not stay so they left a 18year old and 17 year old with no where to stay 3hours away from home so not the best visit if I say so myself and will not be going ..."

A beautiful city with fantastic architecture . Most museums and galleries are free. Ferens art gallery is wonderful and the museum of Yorkshire Life is excellent, William Wilberforce museum very moving. The Arctic Corsair trawler is being refurbished

even though we have stayed at the gilson 3 times and another hotel twice before that it was for medical appointments not for sightseeing so we cannot comment on places of interest

Like so many big city centres, best to avoid them at night. Initially, we decided to eat out in city centre - then saw the rough sleepers, drunks and drug users - not very welcoming! Left city centre for a pleasant meal in a pub about two miles away.

The old town is OK but east Hull is basically a no-go area in consideration of the many social housing estates. Its a bit grim in Hull
