"Everything was fabulous"

Center Hotels Plaza

10/10 Excellent

"Lovely hotel. We arrived on a Saturday and were pleasantly surprised that our room was ready a couple of hours before check-in, which was greatly appreciated after traveling. We stayed in Room 808 (an executive room,) which was clean, comfortable, and appeared to have been refreshed recently. One unique feature was the shared balcony on the 8th floor, where we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights one evening. Access is through a door outside the guest rooms rather than directly from the room itself, which we actually preferred. Some rooms do have direct balcony access, so if you use the shared space, just be mindful of noise and avoid standing directly in front of other guests' doors. The breakfast was quite good. There was a nice selection of coffee and tea, eggs, bacon, sausage, skyr, fresh fruit, assorted breads, and pastries, which gave us plenty of options before heading out for the day. The only issue we encountered was that a couple of days into our stay I noticed I had been charged the full cost of the room on my credit card even though I had prepaid through Hotels.com. When I mentioned it at the front desk, the staff quickly looked into it and processed a refund right away. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. The room was clean, the staff was helpful, the breakfast was good, and the early check-in was a wonderful surprise. I'd happily stay here again and would recommend it to others visiting Iceland."

Hotel Reykjavík Grand

10/10 Excellent

"The staff was very accommodating when I wanted to check in early. My room was ready very quickly and I got upgraded to a tower view room. The building is beautiful, staff is helpful, and the hotel is very conveniently located in the heart of town. My only thing I would warn others about is that there’s currently construction being done, so you’ll hear noises from the construction crew, but it didn’t bother me as I was gone most of the day anyways. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a hotel in Reykjavík!"

Fosshotel Raudara

8/10 Good

"The location of the hotel was great, walkable to the main street (10-15 mins). Free parking on the street if you're able to find a spot, which saved us about $25cad a night. The breakfast was amazing. An awesome selection of hot and cold food items, which we enjoyed very much. They do offer a take away box (sandwich, fruit and pastries) for a fee, which is great for a day trip. The staff were very attentive and helpful, as we had a couple of issues in the room. The hotel does need an upgrade but overall, I would recommend this place."
