"Staying at this property is all about wanting a unique and historical experience. The café was very pleasurable in the evening and we both enjoyed a meal. The room was extremely clean and very comfortable even though I had my doubts the bed was going to be comfortable, had a wonderful night sleep. The shower was to die for and the hairdryer made us both laugh. Parking is at the rear of the hotel and there is an easy entrance right off the parking lot. Our room was number 15 and we did not see any ghost."

"Parking was great, Staff friendly and efficient. Breakfast lovely with good choice. Room clean, just needs a bit of redecorating but if you can look past that, you have a great seaview, it's central to shops, beach. This is the third time we have stayed at the Royal hotel and have never been disappointed."

"The room was a bit grim, worn grey carpet, no pictures... However it was clean. Mattress was the most uncomfortable I've slept on for many a year, but I was so tired I slept okay. We got a cheap rate so generally happy."
