"The local church is lovely and worth a visit. Good walks on Offa's Dyke's path. The property would suit a book fanatic as the place is full of expensive first edition copies and cobwebs! Barking dogs at night from a nearby property kept us awake. Otherwise ok. "

"It is a comfortable hotel with a slightly old fashioned feel, but it is a historic building and the staff are cheerful and helpful. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable and I appreciated the heavy curtains to cut out the sunlight. The stairs to the second floor were a bit tricky for an older guest when carrying luggage, although staff would have helped. I would certainly return."

"The staff were lovely, easy to talk to and welcoming. Clean comfortable spacious room. Lovely historic building with guest information book in the room explaining the area and its history. Marvelous breakfast choices. If something needed changing the staff responded perfectly. Didn't have time to use the gym/pool but other guests seemed happy. Look forward to the opportunity to return. "Easy parking for a few cars, The Castle Hotel is a good place to stop in the area. The staff were very helpful and the check in and out was very easy but the rooms and amenities would benefit from a bit of maintenance and a deep clean."

"We stayed in one of the wilderness cabins. It was really sweet and felt like a tree house type vibe. It was lovely to wake up to the sound of the birds. The food at the restaurant was excellent and would definitely stay here again."

"Absolutely delightful hotel. Me and a friend booked a room each for the Hay Festival, and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. The staff were wonderful; helpful, friendly, even showed us to our rooms. The location was great, not too far away but far enough that I’d was quiet and tranquil. The breakfast is well worth the money, as is the Old Barn pub across the road, where we ate that night. A fantastic stay, I can’t wait to return with my husband next time."

"We spent a lovely night at the B and B. Everything was perfect and they even left a G and T and beer in the fridge for us to enjoy and fresh milk in a jug. The beds were extremely comfortable and the water piping hot. The breakfast in the morning was lovely and our hosts could not have been more welcoming We will return again"
