"Hotelito Azul was such a beautiful, zen experience — very natural, earthy, and tranquil. The food is organic and incredibly fresh, and the entire property has this unique, elevated “treehouse” feel with nature views everywhere you turn. You honestly barely need shoes; there are foot baths outside every suite, which feels so intentional and relaxing. The location is perfect — close to all the great beach clubs and local attractions, and only about a 15–20 minute walk to Ven a la Luz. The blacked tacos at Olivia? Phenomenal. So fresh. Truly, all the food on-site is fantastic and aligned with the whole organic vibe. Customer service was extremely friendly, pleasant, and multilingual — there were absolutely no English language barriers, which made the stay even smoother and more enjoyable. The only recommendations I’d offer: check-in communication could be improved. I didn’t receive my check-in details until after I arrived, and you need a QR code to scan when entering the property. Without that code, you can’t get in, so someone should be monitoring the entrance at all times. We ended up waiting about 20 minutes, but it looks like they were installing a Ring system during my stay, so this will likely be resolved soon. Outside of that, the experience was amazing. The grounds are clean, safe, and truly one of the best beachfront stays in the area. And the rooftop? Spectacular. The sunsets from up there are breathtaking…we sat there every evening just to take it all in. "

"I don’t ever write reviews but I thought my 4 day stay at Shibari deserved one. The hotel is basically a giant compound in an already very safe area of tulum. They have a massive gate in the front that only hotel guests are allowed to enter through. If you are not staying at the hotel, you can’t just wander on through like you can at some others located on the beach. The hotel is also right next to a police station which makes you feel even more comfortable. The area itself is very well lit at night and surrounded by many beach clubs and restaurants. Everything you need is within a 5-10 minute walk. Aside from the location of the hotel, the hospitality was off the charts from the beginning! My only complaint is they had construction for two straight days in the hotel. Not ideal waking up to a chainsaw at 8:30AM or hearing it during yoga or listening to guys work late in the evening at the restaurant. There’s never an ideal time for construction but I feel there were better times for it. Overall, the hotel was gorgeous and well kept all around. Perfect location if you want a relaxing cenote vibe while still close to the party zone and beaches. I will miss watching the sunset over the Mexican jungle…Thank you Shibari."

"I couldn’t say enough good things about this property. We stayed for 2 weeks and enjoyed every single day we were there. Outside area: Beautiful and jungle like around the pool, restaurant and rooms. So well maintained. Gym: perfect little fitness studio with a treadmill, elliptical, free weights and a machine for pulls. Pools: 2 main pools - rooftop or the main pool which is long enough to swim laps if desired. Room: our studio with private pool was amazing. Excellent working a/c and fans, comfortable big bed, full kitchen facilities (dishes, pots, pans, etc) and table to eat at, living room with comfy couch and smart TV, big closet with drawers and a bathroom with good water pressure and temperature control. Service: the staff are super friendly and helpful and they do an amazing job of assisting at reception or cleaning the rooms. Extras: bike rental available for extra charge, towels for the pool or to take to the beach, spa services if desired and cold fruit water always available in reception. Area of Tulum: we thought it was ideal. Right between the beach and Tulum Town. It’s in a quiet area away from heavy traffic and has lots of stores within bike or walking distance. If I came back to Tulum, I’d for sure stay here again without hesitation. "

"I was so happy with the room, which was large and clean, the grounds, beautifully taken care of, and people working every day on the grounds and pool, the rooftop terrace, where I witnessed several beautiful sunsets, got some sun, and took a cool dip in one of the four small pools. I sat several hours in the hammock listening to books that I downloaded. This was my second favorite place to hang out. Breakfast was always delicious and made with great care. I also had two suppers there, and they were delicious as well. The wonderful people at the front desk answered my questions patiently and correctly. I stayed here for 12 days and it started to feel like home. Everything was very well taken care of. Héctor M. was extremely helpful and so friendly. Everyone that worked the front desk, which is staffed 24 hours a day, was wonderful! I'm definitely going to stay here again!"

"Hotel is round 25 minutes of walking from ruines, even though it is a bit far from downtown Tulum, but suits our purpose well. Staff and condition of property is excellent. "
