"Location needed a lot of maintenance. Room was missing half the light bulbs, shower curtain was broken and haphazardly repaired, gum on the carpet in room, and badly done/patched up paint jobs. Broken tiles all over the lobby. Ownership needs to spend some money correcting problems. One positive - Housekeeping staff was friendly and accommodating. Would stay in a nicer part of town in the future. It wasn't very pricey, but it was not what I expected as we didn't aim for the bottom dollar."

"The room was gross, black mold in the bathroom, along the door and ceiling, there was carpet beetles flying around, dried blood on the sheets. Staff was super nice, breakfast was pretty decent and they had an ok SPA. We checked out early by 1 full day because of the room having mold. "

"We had a great one-night stay at The Darling. Both the hotel and our specific room were immaculate. It felt luxurious just to chill on premises and the rainfall shower was a 10/10. We enjoyed the heated pool and had dinner at the rooftop restaurant Elderwood. We interacted with staff a few times and always got quick and helpful responses. Was treated with a bottle of champagne in the room and a slice of cheesecake at dinner for my birthday. Also the free room treats are a small but noticeable gesture and every hotel should do the same. Would definitely stay again. Would love to see the other rooms and try breakfast at Elderwood next time. "
