"The owners were friendly, and attentive, but the property I felt was too expensive for what it was, there was no shower gel or anything in the bathrooms. There wasn’t a bin bin bag to collect rubbish. There were cobwebs and number of Rooms the black leather sofa was old and worn out and not very comfortable so although the setting was nice it did look like somewhere that the owners were trying to get out of as they told us there were selling up. "Some changes are needed and this would be a lovely home. No coat hanger space atall in the bedrooms with only one drawer in each chest of drawers for our clothes. (The rest was filled with excess bedding and blankets). Nowhere for toiletries near the sink (tooth brushes ect) and no upstairs bin. No light bulb in the main bedroom main light, dog hairs inside the fridge, cobwebs about the sitting room and behind the sofas needs a hoover. The property itself is full of character and could be lovely...

" We love the location and have stayed here on a few occasions. We love how the hotel is so pet friendly. It’s accessible to Bournemouth and Swanage, plenty of walks from the hotel and close to the beach (especially for an early morning/ evening swim). Our dinner was lovely and the breakfast is plentiful. "

"We used the hotel for a bride and groom and some guests. We didn’t use the Duchess for the wedding ceremony, but the staff were very happy to make a special occasion for the happy couple. They also accommodated a large party of guests and non-guests for brunch the next day. Parking is easy and free. The hotel is modern and stylish, with lots of extra welcoming touches. We liked the mini books in the room and option of a rainfall or power shower. A really great place to stay. "

"The room was very clean. The building itself is very old but is kept in a very clean condition. The staff were friendly, attentive nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was really good as there was so many gluten free options to choose from and it was cooked to perfection. Parking was at the back of the hotel and felt safe at all times. This is an Ideal location for visiting the town with so much choice of places to eat. "
