"Had a lovely stay at Hotel Diplomat. Staff were excellent. My check-in went smoothly and they were attentive and thoughtful throughout my stay. Had one bad encounter with the host in the restaurant, but other than that everyone was very kind. The room was amazing, the view from my balcony was awesome, the location of the hotel cannot be beat. For the price it was exactly what I was expecting, I could not point out any faults. "The property itself was a great place to stay, clean and comfortable, with pleasant and helpful staff. Breakfasts were exceptional. Did not use the restaurant in the evening. Access to the commuter ferry was excellent. Unfortunately local road works meant we were unable to walk to Sodermalm over the nearest bridge and it was difficult to find an alternative pedestrian route."

"Lovely hotel, old feel. Dinner of soup salad and bread included, as well as breakfast. Walking distance to train and beautiful Kalmar Castle. Food was great, room lovely. Staff made all the difference—lovely and welcoming. This hotel is a gem!"
