"The hotel is beautiful and full of character, and the historic building is wonderfully decorated. However, I don’t feel the overall experience justified the price. The room was comfortable, but there were several issues that need attention. The shower water pressure was very low, the TV only had local channels with no streaming options, and the room became very warm with limited ventilation. The hairdryer in the laundry room was also broken. My biggest disappointment was that dogs are only allowed in the rooms and not in the restaurant or pub. As a dog owner, this meant I couldn’t make full use of the hotel’s facilities. Overall, a lovely building, but I think some modernisation and maintenance improvements are needed to match the price point."

"Hotel looks very dated, room looked slightly better, but still in need of repairs. Nobody at reception to do check in, they send a message asking to provide ID copy through WhatsApp and then give you access codes to hotel and room. Hot and cold water hit and miss, took verylong time for hot water to run in the sink, shower opposite became hot water only very quickly, no cold water. Ok for one night stay, but wouldn't return."

"We upgraded from a cosy room to a superior room. The room itself was lovely, though quite small and the bathroom had a roll top bath. The room was extremely clean and the decor was lovely. However, I would say that there was little space to put any of our things, little surface space in the bedroom and the bathroom. Our room was on the top floor; we were asked before arrival whether we had an problem with stairs, and there were quite a few levels to go up so be aware of this. I do have one gripe! There was a constant humming noise in our room, I expect coming from the extractor fan that was outside the bedroom window. We did put up with it but for anyone who likes silence, it would have drove you round the twist. There was a small radio on in our room when we arrived; so wondering if that was to disguise it. I assume this humming noise would have been heard in the rooms either side of us as well. We were in Room 20. Again, lovely room, was let down by the noise."
