"This property is in an ideal location being a five minute walk from the centre of Dumfries
Colin was a great host with a lot of knowledge concerning the surrounding area and the centre of Dumfries. "
"Great spot for our Dumfries overnight - the restaurant on site was good and the staff were all very friendly. Lots of free parking available and in a nice area to take a walk after dinner. "
"The hotel itself is lovely. Sadly the dining room and bar are closed but the hotel side is open for business! Clean rooms, comfy bed and delightful host. Breakfast was cooked fresh to order and was perfectly done. Really lovely place to stay to take in the surrounding villages and towns. Peaceful village with cafes "
"Lovely cooked breakfast room had everything I needed and for a singing person it was large too big beds settee table chairs tea/coffee makings facilities and on suite brilliant "
"It’s a 200 plus year old listed building so a little old fashioned and quirky. I was initially in room 9 but Patricia the owner moved me to room 1 because when the bar is busy at weekends room 9 is pretty noisy until 1130 or so. Room 1is very peaceful.
Excellent food at the Olive Retreat 5 minutes walk away.
Everything you need is close at hand.
The staff are delightful.
If I find myself in the area I would return. "
