"Average stay, had always heard good things about hawkstone but unfortunately it needs a fair amount of work doing to the hotel grounds and exterior to compliment the interior. The ‘driving range’ ball dispenser was broken and dispensed just a handful of broken and poor quality balls, the mats and baskets were broken and generally the place just looked unkempt (appreciate this is a golf club issue). The room was comfortable and clean but breakfast was over priced at £18 each for a limited cooked menu was extortionate. "

"Stayed here for work for 2 nights. Everything was, on the whole, good. Staff were mostly helpful, the restaurant was very nice with good food, the room was nice enough and comfortable. If I had to ask the hotel to do better on a few things it would be this: 1. The sinks sit on the table in the bathroom, and hard to clean behind, so it looks like the cleaners just don't bother. Desperately needs a deep clean. 2. Doors and windows in my room didn't lock properly. I did report it, but they were still like it when I left. 3. the WiFi is horrendous. I needed to work in my room, but just couldn't. It's better in communal areas, but still not great. If you need WiFi, you might want to look elsewhere. Being really fussy... conditioner would be good too! I forgot mine, and was abruptly told by reception that there is no conditioner onsite! There were lots of couples and families here too and all seemed to be having a jolly nice time. "

"Very nice room. Booked last minute. Good central location. We found parking was easy at the rear of the hotel."

"Given how central the hotel is, the room was relatively quiet and spacious enough. We found the double bed on the small side and too firm, neither of us slept well. Good choice was offered at breakfast but the cooked element was luke warm."

"Hotel was just ok, but they had an open fire in the reception area, which basically smelled the whole of the hotel out, and our clothes still smell of it. Had to leave the bedroom window open all night to let fresh air in, even though my wife was cold. On the plus side I would definitely go back to Llangollen it was lovely, but would not stay at this hotel."

"Good central location within easy walking distance of shops, attractions and railway station. The room was clean with all the facilities needed for our stay. The staff were friendly and the bar and restaurant had a nice atmosphere. The included breakfast was very nice. Would not hesitate to stay again."
