"The staff, rooms and view were wonderful. This was the best place I stayed in Crete. The rooms had a small fridge, kettle, cups and plates, everything we need for our stay. It was spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed and beautifully decorated room, so peaceful. I would definitely stay here again."

Website said “coffee in common areas”, but I never found it, if available. Kettle, fridge, dishes in the room, but no coffee — even instant. For my 1-night stay, it was fine walking to a beach café for take-out ☕️. Wifi was an issue as trying to make arrangements with a group."

"This is a self-service hotel where you will receive the location and door code along with the key which associates to your room. The room had the basic necessities such as soap, towels and WiFi which were all I needed. The only issue I had was activating the A/C which did not work even after closing the window. Overall, I enjoyed Chania and TheJoy hotel and would come back again!"

"My son and daughter and I had an amazing stay here. The hotel might be old but it is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We were looked after brilliantly and treated like family rather than guests. We could easily walk to a range of really good bars and restaurants and there is a massive supermarket five minutes walk away. Loved it."
