Kings Cross St. Pancras Travel Guide

London
Kings Cross St. Pancras which includes heritage architecture as well as a large group of people
See cultural exhibits, relax in the Champagne bar and visit Platform 9 and 3/4 in this international hub that connects London to mainland Europe.

The majestic Kings Cross – St. Pancras is London’s link to the rest of Europe. This elaborate and historic train station complex is the home of Europe’s longest Champagne bar. In recent times it’s become known for its appearances in the Harry Potter series. Relish the art and music displays that make this station so much more than a transportation hub.

Note that the complex consists of a London Underground station and two railway stations. Marvel at the Gothic-revival design of the red-hued St. Pancras Railway Station with its imposing towers. Inside, find the Searcys St. Pancras Grand Restaurant and Searcys Champagne Bar. Capture photos of the Champagne bar, which is the longest on the continent.

Dating back to 1851, the Kings Cross Railway Station has an elegant design made up of two arched train sheds. For many, the station’s highlight is Platform 9 and 3/4, a light-hearted reference to the fictional entry-point to the magical world described in the Harry Potter series. The site consists of a plaque as well as the back-end of a shopping cart, which appears to be half-way through the wall. Take photos of your friends pretending to push the shopping cart into the wizard realm.

Explore the station’s range of shops, which include gift stores and fashion boutiques. Relax at a restaurant and watch the hustle and bustle of passing commuters.

Attend an art exhibit or comedy show at nearby Kings Place and browse through the treasures of the adjacent British Library, where you’ll find a copy of the Magna Carta from 1215.

Purchase a Eurostar train ticket to one of the cities of continental Europe. Experience the adrenalin rush of traveling beneath the sea on a train ride from London to Paris.

Kings Cross – St. Pancras is located just to the north of central London. Ride any of the London Underground’s six lines or take a bus to arrive here. The station is easily accessible from most parts of the country and Europe.

No trip to London is complete without a visit to this lively and intriguing transport hub.
