The hotel is located at a neighborhood with pub and restaurant which makes it a convenient place for traveling around the city. However, it is impossible to sleep well at night with the loud music from the pub nearby.

It was a great place. Pool was a little small but the location was fantastic! The bed was a bit hard but from what I understand, a lot of hotels are like that in this area. Would definitely stay there again. Great price too!

Fantastic location to explore Chiang Mai Old Centre....quiet lane but close to many good restaurants/bars. Rooms were an adequate size with considerable storage, large bathroom and nice shower. Nice amenities.....good size fridge/freezer, kettle and outside seating area. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Chose the hotel based on location and price. Excellent stay; polite and friendly staff. Located near a couple of small bars that get loud at night, but it was no bother as our room was located at the far end of the hotel.

2 nights stay for Yi Peng and Loi Krathong
Hotel De Nara is located within the Old City walls in Chiang Mai. It is beside several other hotels/hostels and pubs and is easily accessible via the old city gates. They have another hotel named Hotel De Wualai which is outside the old city gates and in a quiet neighborhood. It is brand new but very similar to hotel de Nara. Both hotels are great places to stay and is a quiet respite from the busier areas of Chiang Mai. Overall stay was great. Highly recommended.

The hotel staff were amazing we made a mistake and booked 2 nights when ee only needed 1 night as the flight was at 0100. The staff changed it immediately without any fuss. Only problem and very disappointing for such a nice hotel is that they did not cater for vegan food and was unable to have any breakfast as they only had cows milk.

the room was ok and functional, but the breakfast terrible. At 9am most of the breakfast buffet items gone. cornflakes yes, but milk empty. orange juice empty and empty plates with description attached. all in all very disappointing for a relatively expensive hotel. also we have to say that the reception staff was all the time very friendly

What a Great place to stay... Hotel is Very nice looks new... Staff is Excellent!!! Great Service ... Rooms are super clean beds are very comfy WiFi is work very well. The Breakfast at the hotel is really good too the staff work hard and do a well job you gotta appreciate that..What I like about this hotel it’s in the middle of the town walking distance to the the temples and Night Bazzar... and there a lot of local place to eat around the hotel. Fab stay here!
The hotel was beautiful and in a great location! The staff were all lovely and helpful. It is decorated beautifully and very modern, with complementary beauty products left in the room. My only slight issue was the noise at night, it is pretty close to a loud thudding club that seems to start around 10pm and carried on until 2am, this is no fault of the hotel, but it is something to mention if you’re a light sleeper. We also had a few issues with ants in our room, but this was sorted promptly by the hotel staff. All in all we really enjoyed our stay here, would recommend it to anyone and would stay again if we needed to! The pool is a wonderful feature after a hot walk around and is really well maintained. Definitely a diamond hotel in a fab location and a good deal to be had for anyone!

Nice Hotel near tourist spots
Hotel De Nara is a nice hotel very close to tourist spots. There are many places to eat on the soi just outside the hotel. The staff is very friendly and efficient. My only complaint is that the breakfast buffet does not change each day. Other than this small matter I enjoyed my 3 nights at Hotel De Nara and would stay again next time in Chiang Mai

This hotel is in a great location, and has a good pool. The only thing is the pool is only 1 depth... so if bringing children i would brimg a floatie as it is 5.5ft deep.

be careful to book local tours through this hotel
If you book local tours through this hotel, be careful to make sure the itinerary. I booked Chiang Rai one day tour for 1400 Baht per person through this hotel. I was told it's all included. But while in Golden Triangle, I was told by the tour guide that my fee did not include boating, which is 300 Baht per person. But you have to take the boat, otherwise there is nothing to do here. I was forced to pay extra 300 Baht. Other people in the same group told me they paid 1250 Baht and it covered everything. The hotel refused to refund me the boat fee. Also, every evening you will be bothered by the loud music until 2 am at least, which may come from nearby pubs.

Outstanding Staff!
During our five day stay at the De Nara, my wife took ill which placed extra burden on the staff of the hotel. They were outstanding in not only their help but constantly checking to see is there was anything they could do to help. In planning activities and copying itineraries as well as documents required in our business they were simply the best. Our room was quiet, comfortable and well appointed as well as very clean and tastefully decorated. All of this was very affordable. Special attention to Johnny who provided transportation assistance on at least two occasions and did not expect renumeration. Even the breakfasts provided were wholesome and filling. If you are going to Chiang Mai...this should be a serious consideration for accommodations! Nim & Mint ... you two are just amazing...thank you, thank you, thank you!

Well maintained and comfortable with a pool
I liked this hotel and we had an excellent experience.overall. For the price I regard it as good value. A few specifics. We had a delux room with a large bed. Everything was clean and in good condition. The maids had a great way of arranging the towels on the bed into sculptures which always amused us - see photo. The hotel is only a year or so old. The orientation of the hotel is at 90 degrees to the road so most rooms are away from any noise. Many of the rooms overlook a well maintained garden. The breakfast is a buffet plus an omelette or suchlike which is cooked to order. I wouldn't call the breakfast 'lavish' but it really wasn't bad either, and included fresh fruit, rolls, fruit juices etc. The pool was small but well worth having. I would certainly be happy to return.

Perfect location in the old city- 15 min walk to night bazaar and all your company’s pick up from here. The staff was superb, and the pool was a good size to relax in considering most pools are quite small here. Breakfast was good, lots of good eats around such as mr kai and P-yai(had to spell differently there are two ees hotels just thinks it’s offensive)The only downside to the hotel was the bed was rock solid.

Excellent staff service, comfortable room and good location. We stayed for 5 nights with a baby and enjoyed Hotel de Nara. The staff lent us umbrellas for rainy days and kindly arranged for the hotel shuttle to get us to the airport last minute after there was some confusion on how we were supposed to book our cab. The breakfast was good with a neat view of the old city. Excellent walking distance to most sights.

newer hotel that needs to improve
First up I would like to say that the counter and cleaning staff could not have been more helpful. This is a newer hotel that sits just inside the moat of the old city. The soi (side street) in which the hotel is situated is very lively with a number of bars and restaurants. The bed is very hard even by asian standards, the cleaning staff put an extra doona underneath to try to soften it but unfortunately it didn't help much. The room is a reasonable size, the bathroom is quite compact but ok. One oddity I have not encountered elsewhere is that the vanity basin does not have hot water, only cold. Probably the biggest disappointment was the breakfast. There is an egg station but that is about it, each morning there were some small sausages floating in water and a couple of pieces of ham, also floating in water. Fried rice was the only other warm dish. I suppose the breakfast could be best described as one small step up from a continental style breakfast. I hope the standard of the bedding and breakfast could be improved because the staff deserve to see the hotel do better.

hotel close to amenities,
It was our last night in Chaing Mai, and this was perfect in the old city walk to attractions and soak up the atmosphere. The hotel is new so everything is new and fresh, and all works well. Its squeezed in amongst other buildings so no outlook, kind of expect that no problem. The staff were helpful and friendly as ever thank you. But! We stayed the night several families were staying, there is no sound proofing, and there is a noise that sounds like a mythical giant bird has been trapped in the roof and it is calling to be rescued! (I think it was the water system) This led to a poor nights sleep grrr!! The buffet breakfast was.......... well we decided to eat in one of the many cafes close by, better choice and outlook. So we would say if you just need a one night in a clean fresh hotel this is good, we wouldn't say its a place for a long stay. To finish on a positive, pillows were sumptuous and the restaurant across the road DASH is a must for a good feed.
