"The hotel itself was beautiful and had a relaxing atmosphere, especially the outdoor fire pit area with a great view. However, there were several disappointing aspects during our stay. Self-parking was extremely expensive at $56 per night, which felt excessive. There was also no bell service available to help with luggage, making check-in and unloading difficult. I was surprised that the sauna required an additional $20 per person to use, considering amenities like this are often included at hotels in this price range. The toiletries were also not great — the shampoo and conditioner left my hair feeling very dry afterward. One of the biggest letdowns was the outdoor seating area by the fire pit. While the setting was beautiful, the chairs and pillows were noticeably dirty with bird droppings, which made it hard to fully enjoy the space. Overall, the property has potential, but better cleanliness, included amenities, and improved guest services would make a huge difference."

"The property had beautiful grounds. However, they’re very strict about quiet hours. During check-in, the representative spoke so fast because it seemed that she did not want to explain the rules and policies of the hotel so we missed half of the information that was “explained to us.” There was plenty of parking, which is a plus, however they charge for parking per night which due to the high cost of the hotel, you would expect parking to be included or bike rentals because you’re also paying for resort fees. Overall the cost of the hotel does not represent what you would expect you get from the hotel. "

"The staff at checked in wasn’t very friendly the price that we pay for the room you would think the room would have upgrades bathtub. Spa did not work very well. Rooms had a very musty smell."

"Charming historic hotel in a very convenient downtown location. It’s within walking distance of many restaurants, Fisherman’s Wharf, Cannery Row, and the Presidio of Monterey, which made exploring easy. Parking was affordable in a nearby public garage, which was a nice bonus for the area. The hotel has a lot of historical charm and character. My only downside was the lack of air conditioning, which would have made the stay more comfortable."

"Absolutely incredible location and views. We arrived late (11pm) but enjoyed the coziness of the in-room fireplace. The room was clean, comfy and smelled clean and relaxing. Patio chair was missing a cushion, the other had a hole in it and an empty seltzer can was visible from under the hedges as we sat to enjoy the well-manicured grounds. Staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We will DEFINITELY be back. "
