The future starts today in Acton, Canberra’s energetic central neighbourhood on Lake Burley Griffin’s northern banks.

A university campus sprawls over the suburb, leaving busy cafés and bars in its wake. The city’s energetic student hub is a jumble of campus residences and nightlife hot spots. Check out nationally acclaimed museums and archives in this lively quarter. Go bush and explore Acton’s relaxing lakeside parklands. Black Mountain Peninsula is a popular spot, where walking trails and waterfront picnic spots set the scene for an easy afternoon barbecue.
