"Great location especially for Buses, Train and trams. Great staff especially Mex. Breakfast was good. But there are no lifts and lots of stairs. We'd stay again but on ground floor.. Also this hotel is split over 5 buildings but staff are extremely helpful. Beds weren't the most comfortable..time for new mattresses. Can be noisy at times due to traffic"

"Mixed feelings overall. The block was in easy quick reach to Haymarket train station and only a 20-25 min walk to the centre of Edinburgh so location was great. Hiwever, the reception is not in the main apartment block. Its around a 100 meters further up the road. So after a long train journey and in wet weather a further travel up and down the road for check in grated a little for me but check in itself was OK. The apartment was easy to access via stairs or lift and was spacious. We were at the back near the residential car park so not overlooked too much apart from a few rooms in another block.. There were some niggles that made the stay not as enjoyable as it could have been considering the price. These are personal so others might not see it as a problem. The shower is immediately in front of a large frosted window. There was no blind! So if you took a shower at night with the light on, anyone looking up from the car park or the other block would see you showering. I recommend the installation of a blind for additional privacy or shower during the day. The kitchen had an unusual grill/oven/microwave combi and was difficult to comprehend. I eventually ended up cooking on the induction hob as couldnt fathom the instructions. The bed placement made it a squeeze to access the wardrobes due to where these are built in. We did have a faulty tin opener but a call to reception had this resolved quickly. If you dont mind no blind, a wardrobe squeeze or combi oven, its fabulous."

"The location is good. However the hotel is a low 3 star. It is need of an urgent update. It needs decorating from top to bottom. The chain saves money ( but not in their charges) by not providing room safes, fridges, air conditioning or even cleaning the rooms daily to empty bins and put in new loo rolls. They expect the guests to do this, but don’t reflect this in the price. Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. Staff on duty in the restaurant need to have some simple training to actually keep all areas around the food clean. They simply stand around. They need to be focussed on wiping tables immediately they are free, any spillages by the food, get that wiped, anything on the floor get it picked up not keep walking over it. No concept of hygiene or what the customer sees. In a quality hotel this simply would not happen. This can be fixed very easily and quickly. A supervisor perhaps needs to be supervising!!"

"Good. Modern, stylish hotel. Easy Wi-Fi. Friendly, helpful staff. Effective air conditioning. Good shower and bright lighting in bathroom. Bad. Style over substance - light switches take some getting used to. Hanging arrangement looks interesting but doesn’t work that well. We stayed in June when it was a bit chilly outside but the duvets were thick enough for arctic conditions so we didn’t sleep well. No kettle in room - the first hotel without after 10 days touring Scotland."
