"We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. I didn't want to set high expectations based on the location. It's a bit off that is next to a gas station, when we arrived we were not sure where to check in, no reception sign. So we walked into the gas station to ask, and to our surprise, there's a tiny desk at the back of the gas station where you check in. Again, seemed a little odd at first. But the room itself was spotless. You can see the headboard and baseboards are a bit scratched and outdated in some corners, BUT the bed was comfy, the room was clean and quiet. If you want a luxurious stay, this isn't it. If all you care about is cleanliness and budget, this is a great option and would definitely return. They offered a to go breakfast, but we did not make use of it as we had other plans. The location was great to visit Monterey & Carmel and we saved a lot of money by staying here. If you drive down the road you reach a beautiful beach for sunset. "

"The only problem we had was the elevator was down during our stay which was frustrating and inconvenient having to carry our luggage etc to the 3rd floor by stairs and with 4 children. "

"Loved our stay at the Hampton. We were there for a week. Our room was cleaned every other day and breakfast was a little different every day. We drove and the entrance to the hotel can be tricky to get into but managed it after day two. The pool was not heated, it was broken. That was the only disappointment."
