Close to Munnar yet perched high above this slightly scrappy town gives this historical place a lofty view of the verdant valleys. The staff are very helpful and friendly on all levels. We felt it very important to know this place's unique history to really understand what the owners are trying to achieve. Wonderful location, a series of very cute cabins nestled into the hillside. We woke up to beautiful views of the forest which we e joyed from our balcony. Great restaurant onsite. The staff were a mixed bunch, the waiting staff were a delight and some of the front desk staff were very helpful ordering cabs for us at 5am, what I assume is the manager left a lot to be desired in terms of communication and politeness.

Staying in Munnar is expensive, even for 2 nights. I decided to stay in a hotel which is approx 10km from the city. This did mean I needed to be transported everywhere if not exploring the immediate area. I wanted to see Munnar and all it had to offer in 2 nights. Fortunately I did find a tour which would cover this and provided a collection and drop service. Though, due to the distance you must acknowledge it'll be approx 500 INR each way.
