“Brilliant hotel!”

For three girls on a shopping and sightseeing weekend away, the hotel was superb. We felt safe to walk back from the tube station at night and it is conveniently located only 5 mins taxi ride from Paddington station. We flew down from Manchester and got the Heathrow express straight into Paddington. The nearest tube station was Bayswater, which is just 5 mins walk around the corner from the hotel. However, we tended to use Queensway which is 10 mins walk from hotel, as it is on the Central line - only four stops to Oxford Circus and handy for changing to Piccadilly and Leicester Square. Our room was just what we needed as a base for exploring London. There were three single beds, which were very comfortable, although not much space to walk between, and a good sized bathroom. The extra bonus was the fridge in the wardrobe, which ensured we could keep our wine cold. We would definately recommend the breakfast at the Kensington's sister hotel next door, which is a Best Western. For 6.50GBP you can sample full English and 5GBP for a continental. All in all fantastic value for money and would definately recommend the Kensington Gardens Hotel to anyone wanting a clean, friendly, budget hotel in a well located area.

“An excellent over-nighter!”

This clean and welcoming hotel was excellent value. Our room was clean, warm and comfortable with hot water and a comfortable bed. We would recommend it to anyone who just wants somewhere for a good sleep with no frills in London. We will definitely use it again.

“Great Hotel”

A great hotel located a stones throw away from Bayswater station. The room was clean and the beds were extremley comfortable. The hotel receptionist was extremley pleasent and helpful. Also located near some nice restaurants for eating in the evening, a nice little Italina restaurant is right around the corner. Overall great value for money. I would definitely stay there for my next trip.

“Simple hotel, that does what it does fine.”

Nice and simple hotel. The staff provided me with anything I needed. There is not a lot to do around the hotel, but it is relatively close to Bayswater and Queensway - 2 underground station that connect to the Circule and Central lines, so you can relatively easily get to anywhere in central London. The room is nice, but you can hear people going up and down the stairs.

“A clean and comfortable hotel, at a reasonable price”

Situated 5 minute walk from Bayswater underground station / 15 minute walk to Paddington. Decor of hotel a bit dated, but everywhere was was clean. Found room perfectly adequate, of reasonable size, it was clean as was the ensuite bathroom. Hotel set off main highstreet so nice and quiet. Did find the room a little warm, may be uncomfortable in summer as no air con. Have to say stayed at about half standard rate, at this price room was very good value for money. Would stay their again. Good choice of places to eat drink within short walk of hotel.

“Perfectly satisfactory”

This hotel is next door to, and is owned by, the Best Western Phoenix Hotel. It is about 200 metres from Bayswater station and 100 metres from Whiteleys - once a department store, now a shopping centre - in an area that supports London's claim to be the world's most cosmopolitan city. Marble Arch, Oxford Street and the West End are only about 15 minutes walk away. The hotel is clean, my room was well-equipped and the bed was comfortable. What more is required from a hotel in a major city? It is a base not a home. The reception staff were helpful, polite and pleasant. Next time I have to stay in London I shall see if this place can accommodate me.

“Would definitely go back”

I have been at 3 different hotels on 3 separate occasions withing 6 weeks. All at the same price. This one was the best of the three. I had put in my reservation notes that I wanted to have a quiet room because I was in town to follow a training. They listened and put me on the top floor in a comfortable room with nobody else anywhere close to me. I believe I had the whole floor to myself. The receptionists were friendly and polite. The hotel is right next to a Best Western Hotel called the Phoenix Hotel. After 6pm the Pheonix hotel becomes the reception for both hotels, which is actually really nice. Even better is that you also have breakfast next door in the Phoenix - so the quality of breakfast is excellent. The room was comfortable, with own sink and shower. The toilet was 1 floor down, but very clean and newly refurbished. The only negative points were that there was no lift - and my room was on the 5th floor, so I got a good amount of excercise and the corridors and bathrooms were just too hot - it felt like the heating had run out of control. Thankfully I could open a window in my room. Would definitely recommend. Nice shops and restaurants in the neighbourhood. Bayswater Tub station nice and close. Paddington within 15 minute's walking distance.
