Boutique hotel, which means it can also be a bit dated, but that is the charm of England as well! Our room was very hot though. Sleeping with the window open was loud obviously. If they were closed it was nice and quiet. Great staff!!

Lovely staff, very helpful. Room was downstairs with a lovely bay window. Fresh bedding and towels. Hospitality tray was well stocked. Mini fridge in the wardrobe. Nicely out of sight. Bathroom clean and spacious. Complimentary slippers and toiletries. Needed a voucher for breakfast, options of continental or full English. We opted for the continental and there was plenty of choice of cereal, cheeses, pastries, cooked meats fruit and yoghurt. Additional charge for breakfast but were told about this at check in. Would recommend this hotel. Short walk from Gloucester road tube station.

My partner and I had a wonderful stay here! We were looking for somewhere close to the tube stations and Natural History Museum and this fit the bill. Staff were incredibly friendly and approachable and the room was so comfortable with clean and spacious facilities. I would definitely consider Ashburn my first choice of hotel when visiting London again. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This hotel is in a great location near the tube and a hop on/off bus stop. It’s walkable with many great restaurants and pubs nearby. The staff is friendly, helpful and accommodating and helped us book transportation to the airport. And when I walked into the lobby early morning the day we left, I heard the front desk staff on the phone confirming our pickup. We arrived early and they made a great recommendation for lunch while we waited for our room. The room was perfect for our needs.

I don’t know where the 10/10 reviews have come from here.. maybe Expedia need to investigate or even visit? They are either fake or have such low standards. The location is good with excellent transport and shopping/restaurants. The cleaning was average (we found blueberries beside our bed), but the rest of the clean and turn down was ok. The place is NOT as it is in the photos. It’s is extremely tired, the carpets are stained and threadbare throughout. The lounge has an air of a nursing home. We had great issues with the AC.. place was steaming hot (told by night manager that it was set to 33C..). Can back from an evening out to what was a sauna.. AC not working and night manager doesn’t know how it works… had to sleep with the street window open (anyone who knows London, knows how that sounds to sleep to). On discussing with day manager, there is NO AC in the hotel only heating.. any attempt at using AC means the heating is activated… advice: turn all off and open the window for any cooling… this should be removed from the Expedia details. So 3 nights in London using the window as AC… 4 star?? The furniture is very worn, tired and frankly bad. Most drawers can’t open, mirrored cabinets were cracked. The bathroom we had was so small we could wash our hands as sat on the loo and had to skip around furniture to close or open the bathroom door. All in all, the reviews are questionable, the star rating is rubbish and the service passable.

The staff at the Ashburn Hotel went out of their way to make sure we had everything that we needed for our stay. The front desk people are so pleasant. They always said hello and greeted us as we left for the day and returned. The woman who oversaw the breakfast each morning was very personable. Their full breakfast and continental breakfast was very good. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Nice place to stay in Kensington. Right by the Gloucester Road tube stop and a Waitrose less than a block away. Room was nice, clean and I loved the French decor. There is underfloor heating in the bathroom which was a nice touch. Staff were friendly and bar area was nice to have a glass of wine before bed.

Great location in South Kensington and only a block or two away from the tube stop. Fabulous friendly staff (Laura at the front desk was such a gem). The bed was comfortable and the bathrooms spacious. I will say that some of the decor was a bit run down and needed updating. The nightstands had tons of paint chips, stains, and dents. The carpet was faded and tired. With some minor cosmetic updates, this place would be much improved.

Expedia needs to review this hotel's star rating. The Ashburn Hotel is not a 4 star hotel. At best, it may rank 3 stars. While the bed was comfortable, the room fairly clean and the location close to sights and ammenities, the hotel itself is tired. The brown carpeting throughout is lifting in places and appears to need a deep cleaning. The lift needs servicing. Large empty cardboard cartons and green garbage bags of dirty ljnens were left in our corridor for days. The 2 bottles of water in our room's mini fridge had both been opened and one was only half full. There was a stained and badly torn handtowel in our bathroom. The inside of our room's windows were dirty with the initials of previous guests (?) etched in the grime. We paid a four star price for a 3 star experience.

Hotel had the most comfortable king size bed. We had a very quiet room on the first floor. Lovely breakfast and very kind staff. Lots of dining choices close by. Underground subway just around the corner. Also, hop on hop off buses stop at the same subway station. Really great location. I highly recommend.

Lobby was horrible. Had I not prepaid I would have turned around and left. Definitely not the lobby shown in the website pictures. Very sketchy looking. Carpets are atrocious and desperately in need of an update. Consider updating to wood or wood veneer which is easier to maintain. Huge spider in our room. Air conditioning shut off during hot days. Could not for the life of us get cold water from the taps.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Ashburn Hotel. My room was spotlessly clean, spacious , comfortable and had a lovely comfy bed. The hotel is very central for shopping, sightseeing and public transport. The reception staff are excellent welcoming and helpful especially Laura who I had most contact with.

Overall 2nd time staying here and last. If I had breakfast first time I wouldn’t have stayed here again, but now definitely off my list. For cost there are better places in South Kensington

Bit disappointing
We had a 3 night stay at this hotel. Location is handy being near the tube and is fairly quiet considering the busy road nearby. Kensington is lovely. However, the hotel itself was a bit of disappointing. The pictures and decor on the website really sold it for us and we were so excited but it feels like we got let down. The room states it comes with a bath, however we didn't get one as 'only the bigger rooms have them'. We booked a standard double which states bath and has pictures of a bath with it. When we questioned this at reception. We were told we had a 'nice desk instead' and a 'lovely walk in shower'. It wasn't a walk in; it was a tiny corner unit that didn't close correctly. But in fairness, not having the bath may have been a blessing as we wanted to spend as little time possible in the bathroom due to the smell. The bathroom stank of sewage, badly. Made going in there something to dread. There didn't seem to be an extrator in our bathroom either, so there was no was to get rid of it. It was very off putting. The room itself was nice enough, bed was comfy. It wasn't as pretty as the picutres we saw. We did have a back room so it was a bit dim and all the sockets were on the wall away from the bed, which was a bit annoying. I got this hotel on a deal but if i had paid £800 for it, I would have been incredibly disappointed. I presume we just had a bad experience but I wouldn't be rushing back or to recommend this after our stay.
