We had a three night stay in Barcelona and wanted a hotel that was truly central and of a good enough standard that the experience wasn't spoiled by the usual city-hotel thoughts of 'it's a bit small/tatty/unfriendly'. Fortunately, none of these were true of the Bagues. We had a deluxe room with a wrap-around balcony that, so far as we could tell, was probably the best one to get. It was great to be able to stand there with a (complimentary) glass of wine and watch the crowds on La Rambla. Yet with the windows closed the sound insulation was total. It's a small hotel but very well designed around the space they have and generally just feels like a nice place to come back to after a hard day's sightseeing. Okay, it's probably not the cheapest hotel, but we didn't come away feeling short-changed. We would definitely stay here again.

This is a 5-star hotel located on Barcelona's famous Les Rambles, in the heart of the city's Gothic Quarter. Right in the …More
Initially three of us were going to stay in this hotel together for five days however due to unforeseen circumstances one could nit come. The hotel quickly accommodated us kindly and free of charge upgraded us to a superior room. this room was incredible with a spacious balcony with a view of la rambla and beautiful bathroom and lounge area, we were in a room fit for queens. Door staff and reception staff were very kind always saying 'hola' the numerous amount of times we saw them. Hotel was located in an excellent location next to catalunya metro station and la placa catalunya. Food breakfast - good selection of fruit, YUM! and great variety in pastries. My friend and I quickly discovered this pastry that looks like a crossaint though powdered it had the texture and taste similar to a donut and delightfully filled with custard (and I don't usually like custard). Hotel is safe with constant security and excellent card system for access to rooms. with 6 floors I do not doubt that every room is spectacular. Also one morning I got to eat my breakfast on the terrace, it was so beautiful I could only wish I could capture that moment in a photo. Also, where our flight was late on the last day and check out was at 12 midday, there was a safe baggage area for our bags. My friend also stayed here another time and informed me if how awesome it was for her too. Truly excellent!
Went with 3 friends for my 50th birthday and loved everything about this hotel. Stayed in Rooms 305 and 306 which were perfect. They had twin beds and a sofa with a Juliette balcony. Coffee machine, free water, biscuits, safety deposit box and daily sweets. Breakfast was excellent with a cold buffet and made to order hot food. Delicious cheese omelettes! Noon until 7pm the hotel served free coffee, champagne, wine, pastries and sweets which we enjoyed on the open air terrace. A real treat. All hotel staff were friendly, helpful and smiling. Highly recommended as the hotel was excellent and location perfect.
This hotel is fantastically located across from the cathedral. Busy during the day, quiet (but not scary quiet) at night. I had a terrace overlooking the cathedral square, which was huge. Bigger than many hotel rooms I have stayed in. The room itself was OK. Tub with jets was a nice surprise. But the furniture seemed a bit dated and a coffee machine would have been great. Also the TV had no English channels and a small screen relative to the distance between the TV and the bed. Then again, you're in Barcelona, get out and enjoy!
It's a nice hotel and I would come back in a heartbeat if just for the terrace and the prime location
Excellent central location. Barcelona is a fantastic city, vibrant full of life, culture, amazing architecture and a great choice of bars & restaurants. We had a family short break, so much to do. Our teenage daughter really enjoyed it .we all want to go back.
If football is your thing you have to go to camp nou. We got tickets to see a match....what an experience. Fab!
