No elevator, it put me in A Fib first time up them! Very unclean property, I had to ask them to clean my room, didn’t do it till one day before I left!! I asked for clean sheets, they just put my old sheets in a pile on my bed!!! Not a good place for seniors!! I wouldn’t recommend this place to a dog!! Expedia needs to remove it from their hotel list!! THE DIRTIEST PLACE IVE DVER STAYED!!! Pitiful

This is only suitable if you are a physically strong person who likes the challenge of carrying suitcases up very long, narrow, and winding staircases. No one else should stay here. The location is good- very central. The condition of the place is very poor.

Great service all round neened a taxi for airport and the staff where only too happy to help even though it was 3 am bjt they where still very helpful great rooms and very clean

After reading reviews we were worried about staying. On arrival we climbed the steep steps (as advertised) and were me by very friendly staff who gave us three very different double rooms without balconies. The property is clean, comfortable and very convenient for local attractions. You get what you pay for the hotel isn’t luxurious but we only slept (very well) there. If you don’t like noise you may want to request a room in the back as the trams (excellent to get around) run until late and start early. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone without mobility problems. Ps no bed bugs in sight!

The fire alarm went off alot even during the night, all false alarms. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms don’t have a kettle and only one mirror which is in the bathroom.

Great location in the city, around the corner from Dam Square & Anne Frank museum. Staff are super friendly, hotel had balcony which was nice & convienent. The room was an okay size with a nice view, comfy bed and TV. My only criticism would be the room & bathroom felt outdated and could be updated but overall a comfortable stay.

I knew the hotel wasn't 5-star but it was a lot dirtier than expected. A lot of dust build up. The service was good but the quality of the hotel was just not up to par for the price. We ended up leaving and staying elsewhere.

The standard rooms are not like the photos advertised. They are smaller and just have the basics. But overall it was still a good place to stay and reasonably priced for the area.

Old building , good services.
36 steps to get to the lobby, 18 more to get to the room. Nothing fancy, clean ,quiet the staff was very friendly, helpfull. The room was small not much room around the bed.

Disappointing
Very basic, felt like I was in a broom cupboard because the room was so small. Couldnt close the window so it was quite cold at night. Rooms were made up every day but towels forgotten to be replaced. Had to climb 4 flights of very steep stairs to get up to my broom cupboard which wasn't made clear in the description and not ideal as I was in Amsterdam to run a marathon! Bed was fairly comfortable, although could do with better pillows and the shower was hot...... only plus points of a disappointing stay for the cost of the hotel

Disappointed and disgusted.
Disgusting hotel. It looks like those cheap sex hotels. Bed filthy, dust everywhere and we couldn’t stay there. We had to book another hotel elsewhere. I do not recommend this hotel at all. Staff were friendly at the reception, that’s about it. Urine smell was everywhere and they don't do refund.

Check in was ok ,but i would not stay at this again it wasnt what shown in the picture window did not open, blood stain on the sheet, no plug in the sink. there was no hot water on the morning i checked out, on emptying the safe the morning i checked i notice an old face mask on the floor and a lot of rubbish swept just under the shelve and the room smelt damp

Worst hotel ever - a total rip off
The worst hotel I’ve stayed in - period. No electricity in the room on arrival, shower head could not stand - had to hold shower with on hand - impossible to wash. TV had no remote so could not change channel and was stuck on. Dutch speaking news channel. Hotel could not supply an ironing board - but did supply the iron! I would not normally mind this poor level of quality if it was cheap - but it cost over €170 for ONE night - this hotel is a complete rip off - never stay here. I will certainly never come back. Finally heath and safety/ the stairs to the hotel were extremely steep and highly dangerous- certainly not appropriate for anyone frail or scared of heights!

Good location, but not a great hotel.
Was okay for a budget stay. Really good location. Stairs are insane! No good if you’ve got luggage, asthma or any mobility issues! Felt a bit dark and dingy to me, so didn’t feel 100% safe as a solo female. Bed had a big dip in the middle where it was broken, so had to sleep at an angle to be comfortable. No furniture or even a hook or shelf in the room, so everything has to be kept on the floor. Huge smell of urine when you walked in the building too. Rooms were dusty but other than that clean! 2 star rating on the door is pretty accurate, but if you don’t mind that then it’s a great location.

Don't waste your time & money
There's a reason why this hotel is non refundable, it is completely horrible. Mini stairs to get to the reception, those stairs are so dangerous. I ingored the reviews of the other customers. But i regret it so much. Hotel was dirty and the room was so different from pictures. We were dying in the heat of the f**ing room, and they didn't even have a ventilator, room was extremely sofocated and a lot of insects in the rooms. Hotel is so expensive, for the same money we went to a so much better hotel (PH Hotel Oosteinde, completely recommended). We had 3 nights booked, but we checked out after the first night, we saw a guy saying he had bedbugs in his rooms. And then they see the bad reviews and say that you never stayed at the hotel. Horrible customer service!!

After arriving from Paris I came to find the only way I could get into the hotel was up ridiculously tiny stairs. You could imagine how that went with a 27kg suitcase!! I got bed bug bites all over my body, from head to toe. They were so swollen to the point where I was in pain and could barely move my arms. I was moved rooms but was still bitten. I stayed for an unfortunate 3 nights and if it wasnt for my suitcase with the stairs I would have left in a heartbeat! I have photos and videos of the bed bugs in the bed. The staff were shocked but couldn’t do anything but apologies and said I had to contact Expedia yo get my money back. DO NOT STAY HERE AVOID AVOID!!!!

This is THE worst hotel I have had the displeasure of staying in. Fortunate that this was only booked for one night of our trip. The photos look NOTHING like their actual rooms. The first room we were given on the top floor was grim. The bathroom smelled of sewerage, there was no headboard on the bed and there were holes all over the walls. There is no air conditioning which was awful in the 30 degree heat. We were able to switch to the one other room they had remaining which wasn’t much better. The window was smashed and this had been patched with wallpaper! We were awoken during the night by what sounded like someone throwing a heavy object down the stairs and shouting, but the worst part of this hotel was waking up to find bed bugs crawling across our pillow (see photos) absolutely disgusting!! Even for a 2* hotel I would expect some basic levels of cleanliness. We informed staff of this and they did not seem to care. Looking at previous reviews it’s likely they are used to this complaint! DO NOT stay here and waste your money!!

This is a beautiful property set in a convenient location- you can literally walk anywhere in the town centre from here. The staff are very friendly and being vegetarian we were very pleased with the breakfast options.The bedrooms are large and comfortable with very good quality Wi-Fi.. It was also nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room

Decent enough tbh
After reading the other reviews we were wuite skeptical about our stay here. Overall we enjoyed our stay. No bed bugs which was a huge plus haha. The stairs were grand for us, just take your time. Rooms werent great but it was grand like. Cleaner could definitely do more around the place. Communal balcony was a great bonus when you cant book the balcony room. Staff were all super sound, really friendly! We didnt get a bad smell throughout the hotel as they had diffusers around to keep it smelling nice. The hotel itself is in need of updates like the beds not veing so wobbly and creaky. The pillows are my only downfall (i usually bring my own but the FEAR of infesting my own pillow with bed bugs was just a big no) the pillows genuinely felt like a dog had ripped up a teddy and you shoved the stuffing back in and sewed it up. Soooo lumpy and uncomfortable. But overall the anxiety i felt from the reviews was eased massively once i arrived at the hotel. We had a decent enough experience. Location is honestly amazing, super close to everything!

Worst hotel in Amsterdam
This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. There was hair all over the bed and the floor. It was so dirty I couldn’t take my shoes off to step on the floor. Window wasn’t working and the shower drain wasn’t working properly.

Good location, basic offerings
The Hotel is in a good location, near the popular Jordaan area and Central. Front of house staff are friendly and pleasant, though it doesnt make up for the fact the hotel is severley dated and in dire need of refurbishment. The facilities are comparative to a hostel. There is no AC or Fans in the rooms which means during hot weather the rooms are stuffy and very uncomfortable. The rooms are small with little space, which is standard for Amsterdam, however cleanliness is the big let down. There was no sign of bed bugs in my room but the sheets, while washed, were clearly old as several faint stains could be seen. There was dust everywhere, and the wall above the door had a charred, burnt section. The bathroom had hair stuck to the tiled wall above the toilet, and when the shower was on, the water didnt drain fast enough resulting in water going out all over the floor and into the room. If you need somewhere quick for one night, or are on a strict budget of yong backpacker age, this place may suffice but i would suggest elsewhere if planning a weekend visit
