We reached the hotel after a long drive from Jaipur but the breathtaking view of the lake refreshed us in an instant. The staff was very courteous and polite..we even got an upgrade to a suite..thank my stars!!the suite was very tastefully done with the bathroom being the best feature..the staff was very helpful in providing info on places to visit and were prompt and servicing any requests. The food at the Sunset Terrace was good albeit catering more to the European taste.Overall a great experience.Would love to go there again.
We stayed at Chunda Palace for 2 nights. The entrance and the reception are very tastefully done. It gives a glimpse of Mewar Princely State's culture and lifestyle. You know that you are in for a visual treat. The terrace pool and restaurant are the highlights of Chunda Palace. Rooms are large and well maintained. We did not try the in room dining but there are lots of places to go around. If you intend to eat dinner at roof-top restaurant book in advance. It will be best to keep a car for the day to take you around. They have good travel desk if you like to use.
The Jagmandhir Island palace hotel is one of the best options to stay at while in Udaipur, if you are willing to pay the premium...The location is within the city palace complex and getting everywhere is very convenient...the level of hospitatily is first-class and you do get treated like royal guests...the restaurant serves an amazing Laal Maas...and the bar has amazing panoramic views of the water and the surrounding hills...My only major problem with the place is the large number of bugs/insects in the gardens and outside the rooms...its hard to sit outside and enjoy the views after sunset, due to the bugs...i would highly recommend that the hotel invest in electric insect zappers to counter this problem!
