"I enjoted my stay at the hotel. The old world experience of staying in a building that was built for people and not for profit was great. The room size was very generous and I felt comfortable. The fittings were all in good order and well maintained. The view of the roof immediately outside the window was not what I had hoped for but it did show that maintainence on the roof was needed. The small beech trees growing on the rafters needs urgent attention. The shower also needs a clear warning...

"Checked in fairly late, receptionist was friendly and polite. Hotel was very quiet. Room was comfortable and clean although the shower tray had someone else's hair still around it and was not very clean. Bathroom was a good size with and nicely done. Decent sized shower cubicle but the water was far too hot and took ages to get it to cool down, the shower rail was very wobbly and falling off the wall. The beds were nice and comfortable and black out curtains were good. The breakfast was average...

"Everything as you would expect with bar and restaurant on site. I arrived by train and local Radiocab taxis were brilliant The hotel staff were polite and helpful "

"Very welcome by the check-in staff. Room ready and spacious and bright, pet made very welcome with no problem. Two night stay used the restaurant both night. Menu full of choice excellent starters and main with great dessert. Second night choose from "bar menu" but in the restaurant, very good choice. Prices very competitive in restaurant and bar. Great stay.... even though we didn't visit the Zoo!!! "

"Had a lovely stay, was a drop of the hat booking. Lots of shops if you have forgotten anything. Staff was lovely especially Chris the night porter who couldn't do enough to help. Was biker friendly also due to the weather they let us stay an extra hour. The Breakfast was 2nd to none and breakfast staff where lovely didnt know the lady chef but she was very helpful and kept me loaded with coffee" she knows who she ls!
