"Nice hotel close to everything"
Residence Nell was perfect for our family trip of four, two children nine & eleven.room size was very comfortable for our sized family compared to most European rooms. The bathroom was very large and the kitchenette was perfect for a quick breakfast or light lunch.the climate control for the room worked very well and the bedding was excellent, would recommend this hotel, but there can be a little street noise if you prefer to have the widows open.the staff was very friendly.

"Great location for sights, in the jewelry qtr"
Lovely staff, we wanted traditional French styke and we got it. Beautiful hotel. Our room was upgraded from a veldome room to a suite. It was stunning and perfect. Didn't eat here at all or use the bar, breakfast cost 30 euros each so didn't do that either. Would definitely book again. Chaps beware though you are right next to Cartier, Bulvgari and Tiffinys.

"More than perfect."
We (me and my wife) went to the Saint Dominique for 4 nights in august. Everything was more than perfect. The place is clean, quiet, the staff was very nice, providing everything we needed or asked for. The room includes some nice extras like free espresso coffee machine, water, juice, towel warmers and everything. The Saint Dominique is perfectly placed in Paris, you can walk to the Eiffel tower in less than 5 minutes and to the Louvre or the Basilique Notre Dame in 15-20 minutes or so. Nearby, you will find a little grocery, nice pubs, bars, cafés and restaurants.

The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, but we were never interrupted by them. The entire staff was extremely helpful as we do not speak French and they ran interception for us from travel arrangements to special information on things to do in the area.

"Great hotel and location"
Really pleasantly suprised. Looks like a newly opened boutique hotel. Super clean and comfortable. The bedroom was spotless and we loved the breakfast. The hotel is walking distance to the shops of Lafayette and Madeleine. We'd really recommend this hotel and will stay there again. Why look for something else when you've found a great place. Try it and you won't be disappointed.

"Small rooms, comfy beds, great staff and location"
Small rooms, comfy beds, great staff and location. I'd recommend the hotel, although for two people, the small room size was an issue. If you plan to spend limited time in your room, this is a great way to go. The staff was terrific. The front desk folks were unfailingly helpful, smart, friendly and sophisticated. They seemed able to read the variety of guests' tastes and respond accordingly. For instance, we wanted to see a movie one night and the concierge located the best spot with English speaking movies (French subtitles) and told us where we could eat, wrote down the movie start times and name of the theatre to give the taxi driver. It was all so easy. I liked the décor, the atmosphere and the neighborhood. We quickly felt a part of the area and that is fun!!

"This one is a keeper!"
We arrived tired and a little anxious from our journey, but the concierge on duty was kind , helpful and reassuring. He gave us a brief summary of the basics and told us how to get around paris from the metro station two blocks away, ( Place de Clichy ) he offered to set up a taxi/ airport service van for our CDG departure and we took him up on it. The taxi service was excellent and it saved us the trouble of having to schlep to CDG via the Metro at night. The neighborhood is centrally located: Opera, Montmartre, Sacre Coeur, Moulin Rouge, etc, and most Metro rides will be short. The concierge staff will explain to you how to get everywhere and are pleasant and acommodating. There are cafes and restaurants nearby, as well as two supermarkets wthin two blocks. Au Printemps and other department stores are nearby as well. The bakeries you are thinking of are wthin walking distance two. This is not The Four Seasons. It is a clean, comfortable and professionally run small hotel. Be reasonable. I recommend this clean, quiet, basic, efficient and well run hotel.

    Pocket Guide: Paris

It's easy to fall for Paris. Even if you've never been, you'll probably have felt the attraction already; its beauty is no secret. Endlessly written about, painted, and photographed, Paris conjures up emotions for which adequate words and images simply don't exist. Whatever you have read, seen, or heard about the city, the most important thing you need to do is visit.

    A bit of va-va-velib

Only Paris can make a gray, bulky bicycle seem glamorous and sophisticated. Velib, the city's free hire bikes, are Paris's answer to traffic congestion, the good heath of its inhabitants, and transport strikes. For the visitor, they offer an excellent way to get to know the city's 20 arrondissements, or districts, all of which have their own distinctive markings.

The heart of the capital, on the Ile de la Cité, is where Paris began around 250 BC. Now home to the law courts, a flower market, and the gothic masterpiece Notre Dame, it's a deservedly popular spot. Like most of Paris's landmarks, Notre Dame is always surrounded by people gazing up in awe and wonder. Climb the south tower and you'll be similarly humbled as you look down on the city landscape of grand boulevards, parks, and monuments.

Following your eye along the Seine, you can see the world's most famous museum, the Louvre, and further down, the instantly recognizable Eiffel Tower. Include these on your itinerary and you'll have made a small (but important) chip into the huge block of Paris's famous landmarks, monuments, and museums. It's quite possible that the list could seem overwhelming, but sitting at a pavement café with a strong coffee and a guidebook is a good start, and will certainly put you in the Parisian mood.

A bit of ooh la la

Back in 1889, the Moulin Rouge introduced a seductive, skirts-and-eyebrow-raising dance called the cancan. Today it hosts a sell-out show, though risqué titillation has been replaced by slick dance routines and acrobatics. The Opera National de Paris offers a program of classical ballet and opera, performed at the modern Opera Bastille and the grandiose Palais Garnier. In contrast to these big-scale productions, you'll find live music from rock to chanson throughout the week at venues ranging from scruffy basements to plush auditoriums. Alternatively, try a dinner cruise along the Seine for a traffic-free view of the city's carefully lit architecture.

There are a dizzying number of festivals in Paris, each reinvigorating the city in a unique way. Visit on June 21st for a musical adventure as the city plays host to a free music festival, Fête de la Musique. As the world's capital of cinema, Paris naturally has its own film festival and the highest number of art-house cinemas per inhabitant. Open-air screenings, cinematographic tours, and an eclectic mix of films make up a busy program which is enough to push any blockbuster boundaries.

It's true that people here often have a baguette under their arm. There is a boulangerie (bakery) on almost every street and even if you're not hungry the pastries in the window will probably have a persuasive impact. French cuisine is notoriously sophisticated, but you don't need to find Michelin stars to enjoy it. A neighborhood brasserie can offer a fine meal, a place to watch people come and go, and inspiration for your return visit to the city of light.
