Location is great and quiet with a train station very close to the hotel. As a solo female traveller, I felt very safe throughout my stay. The room was small but perfect for one person, with everything I needed. The bed was comfortable, and excellent water pressure. I experienced racism during my stay, and when I tried to explain the situation to the manager on duty, she didn’t understand one thing - she did was nod, without offering any real response or support and this was on my birthday too! All staff I encountered were unkind, unwelcoming, and, just plain mean. The only staff member who was genuinely kind was a housekeeping lady who helped me without huffing and puffing or making me feel like I was a burden.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Niwa Tokyo! The hotel strikes a wonderful balance between traditional Japanese design and modern comfort. The peaceful gardens, thoughtful details, and calming atmosphere made it such a special place to come back to after long days exploring Tokyo. The hotel itself is beautiful, and we especially appreciated how quiet and relaxing it felt despite being in such a busy city. It was a fantastic introduction to Japanese hospitality and a wonderful home base for our first trip to Japan together. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Tokyo!

Decent place, felt a little awkward vibe wise at times and the area always felt a little unsafe at night. Room was alright, having to ask to change sheets for longer stays was annoying, realistically that should just be on a rota. Breakfast was included at a very low price according to the booking, but it isn’t actually included and the breakfast options are pricey add-ons.
