Very close to York city centre, staff very welcoming and helpful. Bed was comfortable, room was nice and breakfast was really good!

Excellent rooms in a quiet, cosy pub.
A cosy pub with small but very comfortable rooms. We were made very welcome from the start. Breakfast was delicious, although the timing - from 9:00 to 10:00 - is a little late for visitors keen to get out and explore the city. The central location is excellent as well. There is a huge beer garden at the back which would be fantastic in warmer months.

What an absolute gem!!! We stayed here overnight and was amazed at it and although we have been to York on numerous occassions and been to The Exhibition for a few drinks, this was our first, but not last, time staying there!! Keep up the excellent work!!

The location is just moments away from a gate to the walled city and just a few minutes to the cathedral and it has parking. It is on a busy road. We were there when the temperature was hot and the configuration of the window and curtains didn’t allow us to leave the window open much overnight. Other than that it was very good and I would definitely stay there again.
