A beautiful top-notch property in York. Centrally located a 4 minute walk from the train station and 8/9 minute walk to York Minster and old town York. Plenty of stores and eating facilities all within walking distance. The hotel itself and attentive staff plus very spacious and well appointed rooms made our stay a real pleasure. Definitely a 5 star plus!!

A beautiful experience at this amazing hotel! The breakfast was delicious and had many dairy-free options for my husband who struggles at restaurants with a dairy allergy. The room was a delightful place to rest. The pillows were amazing! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this hotel.

Always feels special to come back to our favourite place to stay in York. A personal service each and every time, where nothing is ever too much trouble. The Grand has wonderful ambiance throughout. Impeccable service and just the best place to relax and recharge.

Beautiful hotel, all the staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were lovely and well equipped, highly recommend. We used the spa which was great and also had afternoon tea which was delicious. Valet parking was an excellent service with very friendly and helpful staff.

Property full of character staff are excellent very helpful and polite we had a comfort room and it was more than adequate for our needs with a large bathroom. Breakfast was super a massive range and choice from full English to toast and jam, cereals or continental a great stay and we will return

Hotel was beautiful Staff were excellent Clean and beautiful Suite was lovely and clean, bed was so comfy. Weird though no table and chairs to eat in room ( plenty of room for one) Sofa and 2 chairs not sure why for 2 guests. Tv sound was very poor needs an upgrade Overall great would stay again. Lovely location for town

Our 2nd stay at the Grand and once again it exceeded all our (high!) expectations. Legacy is just outstanding - amazing good and exceptional service from a passionate, knowledgeable and committed team. Rise was very good too for dinner. Less keen on the buffet style breakfast experience. Having travelled the world staying in 5* hotels the doorman team are by far and away the best we have ever experienced. Excellent reception team too - courteous, efficient and friendly. We will be back!

The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are huge and always so clean. The staff are wonderful. It’s been our favourite place to have a one night break and we’ve been back a few times. I’d say the only thing that will sadly mean we probably won’t now return is that the spa is an additional charge since it’s been renovated. It was always included in the hotel stay which was lovely…but it doesn’t feel worth paying on top of a high end room cost. A shame, but the hotel is lovely if you’re not bothered by the spa bit.
